Ceromancy
-------------------------------------------------------------
Ceromancy is a form of divination where wax is used for predictions ( cerrum – wax , mancy –divination , skill, prediction, what comes from Divine ).
Witches traditionally burn candle allowing the warm wax to drop in bowl with cold water. Bowl is usually dark blue or indigo in color and sometimes the candle is of the same color, as both are reputed to be correspondent ( among other uses ) to divination and clairvoyance, though a common beeswax candle is also suggested. The shapes that appear are than interpreted by their traditional symbolic meanings. Sometimes during the procedure of wax dripping words of power ( Incantations or Even Psalms or affirmations)
were pronounced to increase the efficacy.
Some traditional symbols that may appear include
( these came from Judika Illes’s book ) :

Airplane: A trip or a disappointment.
Anchor: Your loved one is faithful.
Ball: Your problem will roll away.
Bed: A restful holiday would be good for you.
Bells: A wedding.
Bird: News is coming.
Bridge: Time to take a chance.
Broom: Time to sweep in a change.
Candle: Spiritual growth.
Chain: Go ahead with your plans.
Circle: Time of reconciliation.
Cloud: Something or someone threatens you with a stormy situation.
Cross: You are protected.
Ear: Listen for opportunities to advance in your work.
Egg: There will soon be new developments.
Fan: A surprise is coming.
Feather: The problem will be solved.
Ghost: Someone from the past is looking for you.
Grass: Good fortune grows.
Heart: Friendship becomes love.
House: Better times are coming.
Leaf: There will soon be changes.
Lion: An unpleasant situation.
Moon: More money may be coming.
Mountain: Close friends are willing to help.
Pen: Letter from a friend or relative.
Ring: Marriage may happen in the near future.
Scissors: Separation.
Snake: Beware.
Spider web: Pleasant occurrences.
Star: Happiness.
Sun: Good fortune.
Table: An abundance of blessings.
Tree: A good time for new ventures.
Walking Stick: Go and visit friends.
Wheel: Travel, or someone journeys home soon.

These particular symbols in wax and their meanings allegedly originate from Italian witchery yet they could very easily be used and applied by practitioners of most other traditions/ systems.

Daphnomancy
-------------------------------------------------------------
Daphnomancy is method of Divination in which leaves of Laurel are burned, therefore this can be also considered a form of earlier mentioned Causiomancy.
It Ancient Rome it was customary to burn Laurel ( Laureus nobilis ) as incense in Oracle Temples, and cunning people would write a wish in red ink or blood on the Laurel leaf under the Full Moon. Then they would burn the xerophytic leaf and If it would burn all quickly it was believed that the wish will come true very soon and in full intensity. If the leaf had to be re-lit one or twice it was still belied wish will come true but not as soon and perhaps with some flaws. If the leaf barely burned and extinguished a lot of times during the process it was believed wish was immodest, or even silly or that perhaps it was not in one’s benefits to come true, or to come to at that time.

I've honestly never heard of these forms of divination before. Thank you for the information. After reading this I think I'll do a bit more reading into each topic. They are rather interesting topics, I must say.

Some old hags from balkan use this to help people even today.
They drop hot wax in a dish of water they see what bothers you and then they melt it again and again until wax become smooth. That means that your heart is at peace then. Same method is used with lead.
