Divination

Greetings all

I'm busy reading through the coven's forum, and keep stumbling upon MaraXXX's assignments. Although the assignment to post something was for somewhere in May, I thought it a good idea to use this opportunity to ask my first question.

I'm in the process of purchasing a quartz crystal ball from a small crystal shop near where I study. As of yet, however, I haven't found a crystal that "resonates"(for lack of a better word) with me.

I'm curious as to what your opinion is on divination, specifically crystallomancy? Furthermore I was wondering whether those of you who practice it, have tips and suggestions on purchasing the crystal.

An interesting tid-bit I stumbled upon whilst reading: apparently the best stand for a crystal ball when scrying is a copper bowl filled with rain water. Does anyone know why that is? I know that water has been associated with psychic abilities, but the copper puzzles me. If I'm not mistaken it has a Venus correspondence?

Anyway, hope to hear your opinions and suggestions soon.

The stands used for crystal gazing are completely up to the reader. As usual, what works best for one may not work best for another.

I would assume the copper and rain water would be because of the natural energies they produce, however I can't be sure.

As for tips to picking the crystal..keep on doing what you are doing. The crystal needs to call to you, and you will notice it very clearly when it does.
