Help! Making my wand

I choose a piece of wood from a tree that was hit by lightning last spring. I sanded it down and set aquamarine (my birthstone)jems into the handle. I'm ready to finish the wood.

What should I use to finish the wand?

I was thinking pure linseed oil and dragon's blood oil. Would this be correct? Or should I use something else. Maybe just rubbing some wax into it?

I'll be charging the wand with the next full moon.

Also, is there a chant I should recite use while rubbing the oil or wax into the new wand to help the charging?

Any help will be greatly appriciated.

I really believe that an important quality in being a witch is having trust in your instincts. That is, there is no right or wrong way for you to make your wand, do whatever feels right to you. You may be struck with a creative idea, - there is no need to check with others, it is your wand, or whatever creation. It is completely personal to you.

Your creation is an aspect of your own personal power. If you create it from someone elses mind, it is not truly reflective of your self. I would suggest asking yourself the questions you asked in your post. Only you have the answers.

I have to agree with Zebrah here. Wands are very personal. There is no right or wrong way of doing it. I personally would use what you suggested yourself. Both of them are good ideas :)

I'm an artist and will create a very usual wand. Looks pretty good so far. I'll post a picture when done. I measures from elbow to tip of longest finger, funny how it just worked out that way, I didn't measure it when I cut it. Weird!

I want the wand to be charged, is there a spell or chant to help charge my wand during the next full moon on Nov. 10th?

For example, I cut a stick off of a tree (and asked permission, although I felt like an idiot talking to a tree). I did not want all fancy decorations on it, so I just named it and put some Norse runes that meant fire and spelt its name. It's totally up to you

Any wand i made vanishes after 3days,so i gave up.At night i heard a noise on my window..i work up and behold i saw a new wand.i shall take a shot of it..in my pics here on SOM..i saw it as a gift from Nature.
