To start the dial piece is called a Planchette...
As for the binding I can provide the proper way to use the board...
There are two ways...One is to invision a white protective light, only contacting good spirits, around you.


or you could open a simple magick circle and work from inside the circle...just be sure to include the spirits you contact in your thankings and farewells at the end of the ritual or they might get mad!
