Typical wiccan (person who follows Wicca religion ) do not believe in demons (as in christian version of this word not the word daemon used as in spirit ) ,they do not believe in The Devil either .What they believe in are Horned God and Goddess .So this applies for everyone who is not eclectic version of Wiccan .
Therefore i do not know how someone will be banishing something which does not exist in his religion .
You can not kill demon ,for they have never been born in human body ,which can die as we do .It is spiritual being and therefore can not die for energy do not vanish it simply changes form or location .
If you decide you are eclectic variant of this word you can always use lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram or evoking the watchtowers .Also you can give a try to other banishing spells ,which you feel appropriate .Another good idea is to cast protective circle around your house or use witch bottles for same aim .

That is true for Wiccans, but some people will call Shadows or evil spirits, demons. Just like how energy changes forms, some names mean differently to each person/religion.

To kill something is to end the existence of something. This can be done by changing the flow into another. Think about wood, wood can be crafted into so many things like a table, stick, house, ect. but it will still be wood. Now if you set it on fire the wood will turn into ash. You cannot change ash back into wood (unless you turn it into soil and plant some seeds into it to grow a new tree). The same is with everything else including energy and spiritual beings. You can change it so it cannot easily reform to the old form. Disburse is a better term for this.

Banishing is just moving one thing into another location. This can be done and is easier than "killing" the "demon." You can learn different ways into doing this but it is best to bind them away after the banishment. You can even seal them with an enchanted item (runes engraved, charms, ect)and keep them in there so they do not cause anyone any harm. And lastly you can just put up a barrier around the area to keep harm and evil things away.

Fighting demons is an interesting idea. Sadly it isn't as exciting as you may think. Just as above, you are fighting the demon to disburse it, move it away, bind away/in, and other. The spells you have cast is your will commanding the demon to do a certain thing. If your will is stronger than the demons will than your spell will work, but if the will of the evil force is stronger than yours then you will need to get a stronger spell. Stronger spells can increase your will more than a weaker simple spell. Black salt is good in keeping them away.

Even if you are wiccan, you can always be different than the wiccan next to you. You do not need to follow everything they follow, because we believe in different minor details. But as long as you follow the larger details like "Shall harm none" and so on than you can still call yourself a wiccan.

I also want to say that some people believe that "demons" can also be good and evil. But if you want to keep your wiccan values than call them shadows.

Hope this helps.

don't know of many Wiccans believing in demons [other pagans yes, but not Wiccans] i do know they believe in negative energy, and they'll do protections and cleansing, but that's about it.

Nash gave me an idea i just remembered that Wiccans should follow the rede and it states indeed "harm none ". Sobviouslly demon is something it should not be harmed ,either let alone killed .Therefore such act even if it was possible is against this religion and its dogma .
Demons are deffenately not wood ,for anything that has a physical form should follow the physical laws ,however demons are beings with spiritual nature and on the top of that they are long known as shapeshifters .Unfortunately Nash i sort of fail to get your logic here . How do you shape the form of the shapeshifter ?And even if you could would not they change it back if they could ?

Yes. The word demon may be a term associated with catholic ideas, but it is describing the same evil all living and non living are at risk to encounter. No matter what we call it, evil is real.
Our coven officially united for the first time as a strong need to remove an evil entity from a home a coven member purchased. It was a lot of work, and the 'demon' fought back breaking windows
and clawing and banging walls. A member had allowed it to enter when using a spirit board to commune with a different spirit. Which we decided collectively not to use again, for though it never broke our magick circle, at the time the circle only encompassed the sanctuary and not the entire property, we still decided that if we could not protect the entire city we should not open a portal. This one came through, and the witch demanded it leave. It did not, instead it responded by crawling up the side of the wall toward one of the two women in the room. As the days went on it grew stronger, threw glass at a child and terrorized the animals, with a favorite cat found hanging by its back leg upside down above where the board was used. We binded the board, using a spell and white string, a lot of it. We buried it in red brick dust, sea salt and protective oils, within cement blocks in the earth until it could be dealt with further. Then we moved on to removal.
We spent the day crushing red bricks, until we had a 5 gallon bucked full of red brick dust, and sea salt from an outgoing tide. To pull away the spirit. We mixed in certain oils and herbs for protection and blessed water until we had a grainy red paste. White sage, and dark copal resin were added as well. We placed a white candle in the 5 gallon bucket full of this and let it burn as we moved to smudging. We went through the house starting in the center and chanted words of removal, banishing, and protection. As we went through door ways we used an oil and brick dust, slat mixture above and below. So along the thresholds and above the door frames, and along all windows, vents, and openings. When we passed mirrors we used lemon oil. We went to every corner and every crevice and let the smoke absorb. Then we took the bucket mixture and made a huge circle that encompassed the ENTIRE property, as the entire group chanted. Including repeating this one about 1000 times as we spread this thick barrier down.
'I banish all evil, and all negative energy. This is for strength in the light, this is for protection',
this took several hours to lay this barrier. When left 2 feet open, and then (by the way the board was buried off the property) and we smudged the property going in ever widening circles. Then as we reached the opening, we sealed it.
With that we were safe, and all the activity abruptly stopped. It never returned. To be safe we strengthen the barrier every month near the Full moon, just reinforcing it. When we took the board to bury it further away a huge black cloud of smoke appeared for 1 minute, enough to encompass a house. Then without ever turning white, or fire trucks arriving, it was gone as quick as it came.

We had no fear in our hearts and we made a point to ignore the sounds it would make as we did this, we gave it no energy. It left claw marks, it was a 'demon'. We never needed a cross or bible, just love and the strong protective instinct to protect our families from evil.

I am not saying this is the only way, but it is something we put together from researching many techniques. We wanted to be completely covered, so we practically did it all. Since intention is so powerful, we crushed bricks with other bricks while chanting. The amount of labor in this was proof of our strength and dedication to banish. I think we scared it more then it scared us.

Blessed be all those who use the magick of the Gods.

I can understand that some people will not understand everything that is set in front of them. I was just trying to give you an idea of "How" than "Why you cannot do it" so please stay calm.

The rede, I believe, of shall harm none follows living beings like people, animals, nature, and anything physically alive. In your case, a "demon" is a shape-shifter of a super natural level. It isn't classified as being alive because their is no death, as far as I know of, in those supernatural beings. So the rede has no say in what you do to something that is not alive, therefore you can do as you please with it as long as you do not harm another living being with your actions.

"Nothing is Impossible" is what I believe in. Everything can be done in one way or another. This includes disbursing "demons" and shape-shifters. Sadly I do not know much about "demons" being shape-shifters because I see them as energy beings with a will on its own. Kind of like spirits on a different level, which is why you can call those demons as Shadows. I can understand that people have different feelings in such matters so I am not trying to force you to agree, just telling you what I know.

Hope this helps.

Nash, I have trouble with you logic that demons and spirits are not living as they can not be killed. As you stated earlier a tree can be cut to make a table, yet the tree dies after being cut (the part that is cut is dead). I have always been taught that life is that which possess energy and functions. Therefore, a demon or spirit is alive. For if your logic is true, than anything that is dead never lived.

GenisSage, to your original post ( it seems to have gotten off topic) I do not know if a Wiccan can kill a demon. I do believe that they can banish or fight one, but that would require extensive research on demons. I do know that there are many magic users that banish and fight demons, with varying degrees of success based on their knowledge, skill, and will power. Hope that helps
