Greetings

Hello SoM community,

I joined this site to indulge my lifelong curiosity with magic and the occult. That said, it is my intention to proceed with a mixture of skepticism and caution.

I am 24 years old and am looking for another like-minded novice to "partner" with on this journey. The purpose of which is to maintain anonymity (not ready to come out of the broom cupboard, so to speak), collaborate on research and experimentation, and to keep each other accountable in terms of morality and learning goals.

I would also appreciate the opportunity to develop a relationship with a seasoned practitioner to ask questions of as well as to help monitor and direct my development.

I have read a fair chunk of the articles section, and understand that I need to start with the basics. It seems that meditation and visualization is an appropriate starting point. I will do my own research on this, but would still like to ask if anyone has any advice, or techniques that were effective for them when they were starting out.

Also, I am very interested in getting my hands on some quality books. Again, I will look on my own but if there are any suggestions, please let me know.

Areas of magic I am most interested and why:

Casting - For the purpose of influencing my life outside of conventional means.

Astral Projection - Because I like to explore, adventure and learn.

Herb Magic - I like holistic cures, and am interested to learn more about herbs and there properties.
