i would simply like to know what a grimoire is and what it does

its similar to a Book of Shadows except some might argue its strictly for spells, formulas and recipes only- unlike a BOS which has dedications, magickal lore, personal experiences- dreams, psychic readings etc... hope that helps and Happy Samhain! Blessed Be

Veneficium is correct.

A grimoire is a mage's personal book of spells and rituals. It doesn't "do" anything other than serve as a place to keep a record of spells and rituals you have performed.
