According to WebMD, it should't be taken by women that are breast feeding or pregnant. It can also cause allergic reactions in people that have allergies to the Asteraceae/Compositae plant family. These include plants like ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, etc. It has also been know to cause allergic reactions in people that are allergic to birch, celery, wild carrot, honey, royal jelly, and tobacco.

To be on the safe side, if you've never worked with it or used it before, I would be wary of it. I would also suggest talking to a physician before you use it.
