Items that ground magic?

A friend gave me a necklace not so long ago and I don't really take it off, but wearing it seems to ground my ability to concentrate on magic. Is it hexed?

It may be more of a suppressant.. The only positive thing I can think for it's use would be to use it as a training mechanism. Something like weights on your ankles and calves, to make you a better swimmer. It could also be something against a specific type of magic.. You should secretly quiz your friend.. or try to :/.

I doubt it is hexed unless that person has something against you and actually knows how to use magick effectively. However, to be safe take off the necklace and cleanse it. Simply place it in a bowl of salt water and leave it by a window over night for the moon to shine down on. By morning, it should be cleansed. Rinse it off in tap water and pat dry before wearing. You can also place a protection charm on it after the cleansing to keep you safe from future magickal attacks.
