why am I drawn 2 amethyst

since ive been looking into learning wicca and witchcraft im finding myself drawn to amethyst, but I dont know why. no other crystal has the same affect. does anyone know the significance of this?

The Amethyst has protection and enhancing properties. It is also the February birthstone as a fun little note. I am more drawn to this stone because of my birth month but it is also because I am drawn to stones that gives a form of protection. You can find more information but that is the basics.

At one time Amethyst was thought to prevent drunkeness! In ancient times, before modern mining techniques and the discovery of the huge deposits in Zambia and Brazil, Amethyst was more valuable than diamonds! Almost every culture, from ancient Egypt to modern Europe, has valued Amethyst as jewellery. It is a wonderful crystal compound; and is best in its natural state. I have some large lumps of it. Hold it in your hand, and the heat causes it to "vibrate". You can actually feel it! Maybe not so much as pure Citrine, but it does vibrate.

I didn't know amethyst vibrated when it warmed up. Nor citrine. That is cool.... Does it matter if it's cut or raw mineral?

All forms of quartz vibrate, it's why crystals have been such a long lived staple of the occult communities of history. It is a perfect conductor of energies, and depending on the formation, has it's own innate properties of transmutation. Amethyst in particular, is very closely aligned with the frequencies of the brow chakra and work well for opening that area.

It's also an excellent stone for dispelling negative thoughts and energies, and turning them into positive and productive vibrations that are wholesome rather than harmful to the practitioner or environment.
