Yes, any weighted object connected to something suspending it can be used as a pendulum. A lot of people use a ring on a necklace chain or string. You have to charge it yourself, how you do this is up to you.

i have 3 pendulums but i like to use my neckalace best as its constantly around my kneck , u can put them out in the moonlight,bury them for 24 hrs or charge them with a big amerthyst depending on which u prefer to use pop a ring on a chain and ask 3 questions ,show me my yes answer, no answer and maybe answer u should get a differant swing wen asking have fun xx

It's usualy a crystall susspended on string or chain but can be anything really. The great way to consecrate it is to leave it in glass bowl with Holy water and Mugwort infusse underr Waxing Moon!

Kalresha, you said you have to chrge it yourself, but what if my father charged it then passed it on to me? would I still have to charge it?

The Mugwort and holy water is a cool idea, but wouldn't that rust the chain? Most are made with chains. BUt sprinkling it would be good.
I smudge mine after I make then. I have used pendy's for picking out fruits and vegies to getting the right vacum cleaner bags at wallmart. And even contacted spirits with the same pendy. I love the things.
I use fancy beads for my pendulums.They work great.Wish I had some good pics. I have a bunch i need to sale.

It really depends on u if you feel the pendulum needs charging again. I do not think so. It would be the perfect one to contact dad with if u should ever want too.

My son comes through and tells me he loves me every time I use my pendy-with the help of the abc charts.
