What is a coven??

Hey everyone. I am new to everything that has to do with
magic(k) and I keep seeing stuff about a covens, what are they? I have asked my friend and she tried to explain it but I got really confused and she walked away. Can someone help me?

If you mean on this site, it is a group of people that collaborate on private posts, hang out in a private chatter and become better acquainted with each other. In the real world, they are structured and sometimes secretive magical religious groups.
