Shoebox altar?

So, I have a tiny altar. Like literally, because I live in a small space and I'm in the "broom closet", my altar is a shoebox that I painted and fancied up (I know, unorthodox and weird, but hopefully it'll serve it's purpose)
There's only one problem- how the hell am I going to set this up? I'm not sure whether I should store everything in the box, then set my stuff up on top whenever I'm going to use it, or just use the space inside as the altar itself. Any ideas?

You could always try both, and whatever seems most natural/comfortable to you then you should stick to that ^^ It's up to you, really. I don't think either way makes a difference.

In my opinion, I think you should store the stuff inside and then use the top as the altar. I think this because if you need to burn candles you don't want to burn your shoe box. Also, I feel like using the top would have a better flow to it (I hope that makes sense) BUT it's your altar man.. however you want to set it up is fine.

Yea using the top feels like it might be better. At the end of the day however it all comes down to personal preference. Try both and see what feels more comfortable and what makes you feel the most connected.
