Staff Blessing Ceremony

Does anyone have any tips on how to bless and link the elements of earth better in a staff? I already have a staff ready along with some materials. The staff itself is six feet three inches, weighs about 11 lbs, and is from a branch of the American hornbeam. It took me 14 days to whittle and sand it to be held comfortably in any position and I only whittled and sanded it between the hours of 12-1 pm and 12-1 am. I currently have 15 ritual candles three each of the colors Red, Green, Blue, Black, and White. Lastly I have 78 sticks of chalk a diameter of half an inch wide and four inches long.
I know that on occasion the characteristics of the wielder need to taken into account as such I shall give mine if it may help.
I stand 6'1, weigh 178, and I am a Scorpio along with having been born in the year of the Rat.

With some help from a couple friends I was able to burn a sigil along with some runes into varying parts of it as to not cancel or disturb the energies each other uses.
Along with this I was able to make several holes of which I placed a small topaz and a small citrine within.
I then sealed these areas with a type of glue made from some sap collected from local trees.
After this I went further and used waterproof mahogany paint as to change the color along with water proofing it and further sealing those glued holes.
I have read a ritual in which shall bless my staff, yet it requires said item to remain under 3 inches of non-disturbed snow for a minimum of 17 days before I can do the final step which requires it to be on the winter solstice.
To fully link the staff to the elements I must do the sister ritual which must take place on the summer solstice.
As such after the ritual upon this years Yule I shall have to wait til' June 20th of next year to properly finish the blessing ceremony.

As I stated in my last update on this forum I was required to place my staff under 3 inches of non-disturbed snow for a minimum of 17 day.
I actually placed my staff within the snow two days after my first post.
Meaning I placed in within the snow on the 21st.
Thus tomorrow I may remove it and start preparing for the other parts of the ritual.
However I ask you people of Spells of Magic, whether or not I should keep beneath the snow for a few more days than I originally intended.
No matter what, I shall still prepare for the other parts of the ritual, I am merely wondering about this single step.

A blessing seems to be a very powerful evocation. When you hold your now blessed staff, what do you feel? Does it seem to have a spirit of its own now, or is it more like a imbued tool?

As I stated previously it is a two part ceremony which takes place on the summer solstice and the winter solstice the first of which will not be complete until after the 21st.
To answer you more thoroughly evocation is a word in which means "to call forth" another way to put it would be known as a summoning.
Evoking is derived from the word evoke which generally means "to call up or produce" this however is generally meant for emotions, memories and nothing more, it also means to summon or call forth but to a lesser extent.
Lastly though I have called it a blessing ceremony as that is what it would be classified as, it is more of a way to link the elements to the item.
The main or rather only reason it is classified as a blessing ceremony is due to the fact that it requires holy water along with several passages from the bible to be read. Other than that it is completely pagan, it is only known as a ceremony of blessing due to the small inclusion of this.
All in all it is a ceremony in which binds the elements to an item.

I took my staff out of the snow yesterday and I finally got the final ingredient for the ritual. Twenty-six ounces of ground blue orchid, it took me forever to find that much preserved blue orchid that wasn't damaged or wilted in anyway.
