I've only really got into this and I'm wondering

The style of that spell seems like creating a thought form. But that is not something some deity will make somehow appear in your mind's eye.

It takes meditation, specific ideas (such as listing all the details), visualization (being able to picture every aspect of the thought form as if it were there), and energy manipulation (exerting the energy into the non-physical entity you have created).

It is a matter of belief, and not fact; this is necessary before I continue. None of this is a provable 'thing.'

Typically it takes a lot of practice and dedication in the above skills before someone ventures into making a thought form.

All that said, I don't see why such a spell could not be used to complete the work and bring the familiar into 'being' (in whatever sense that may be).
