Making My wand

I do not intend to purchase my wand, I will handcraft it from nature. When making my wand, what gem shoud I place on the lower center of my wand? Also, I was thinking to make my wand more personal, I should prick my finger and let a drop of my blood seep into my wand? Any advice of suggestions is highly appreciated.

I suggest that you use a stone that is special to you or one that has a particular energy to it that calls to you.
Now for the whole drop of blood thing, you can do that by all means it's your wand. That might make you and your wand more connected in a way, like a binding spell, your now bond to the wand. I hope this helped you, and if I'm wrong about what I say then I'm greatly sorry.

Thank you for your response. However, I do not own a stone/gem that has any personal meaning to me. I used to have a stone that was given to me by my gran but I don't think I'll have much luck finding it as it was given to me at a young age.

If not a stone then perhaps a charm of some sort from a necklace or bracelet. Something of meaning that could fit on your wand, anything that's special to you or has a energy about it. That could work as well, if you think something should go on your wand then do so.

What is it you intend to do with the wand? As Zoot suggested something personal is typically the best at forming a connection between you and your wand however failing that (or perhaps as well as) I'd consider exactly what it is you're hoping to use the wand for and check out the typical correspondences of stones that match your intent.

I would also point out as a side note that there's no actual requirement to use a gemstone or other object in a wand. The point is that it's personal to you and if you typically use gemstones in practice then it's probably worthwhile however if not you may decide it's not necessary.
