Well, it depends on if you just hope something will happen or if you actually do magick.
For example: if you just say "I'm sure wish I could lose weight," then it won't happen, at least not because of the wish.
If you actually preform a spell to, say, be more motivated to lose weight, it could be anywhere from a few days to a month, from my experience.
