How to Create a Spell

What's up everyone, I'm very new here, I'd like to get your input on how to write/create my own spells. Is there a specific way to go about it or is it more of a "what works for you is right" type of thing?

For me it has always been much more the latter, sometimes they're two sentences, sometimes they're two paragraphs. Other times they can be much closer to a ritual working.

There's no clear cut solution. Words are usually a good starting point although again aren't always necessary. Depending on how you prefer to cast, you can work with physical representational forms, or you can work with visualised forms, there's lots of factors that mostly come down to personal preference.

As Hodge has said it is all about personal preference, with time you will find your own style and method of creating a spell, in the meantime there is a great forum post that could help you out:

Intuition is crucial in magic all my spells come from that. 99 percent of the time it comes straight from my intuition. Also you need to meditate on the spell and perceived results of the magic that helps.
