This might seem like a weird topic but it does actually impact our worldview. Both in a spiritual sense, metaphysical sense, and even in a psycological sense. I say psycological because how we see ourselves and view others effects us in profound ways. Do you have a favorite LGBT themed story, historical or religious? Can you think of any spells you have seen that you feel might be more effective for attracting the same sex? How do you identify and how do you feel your experiences might differ because of it?
Im actually part of the LGBT community so it's great that this is a good conversation within this coven, and I currently want to research queer/gender magick that everyone seems to talk about but i know nothing about it! so im very curious, along the lines of attracting the same sex, basically love spells, I don't actually like love spells too much because really its manipulative magick in some cases, and I consider that borderline black magick, so I try to stay away from things like love spells, or any type of spell that changes another person's train of thought or actions so they act a certain way or think a certain way, you know???

Honestly, I don't believe you can force someone to think or feel a way that is completely against their character and they are adamently against. The entire premise of magick is that it works with nature, does not contradict physics or science, and that it is a matter of using energy to attract things which are already possible. In other words, if it is not possible without magick, it will not be possible with it. I will got several paragraphs more into depth about love spells specifically next month as I will make it the ToTM of September.
In regards to a man attracting a man per example, I would recomend hyacinth as Apollo's lover Hyacinthus was turned into this plant after his death. Since it demonstrates gay love I think it an excellent choice for that which is represents.
If in another example, you are a MtF transgender going through hormones and doing the surgeries I would suggest pink/red roses and rose quartz. You can burn dried rose petals and small pieces of rose quartz in a spell with a pink candle that you can get shaped like a woman. You can also mediate with a rose quartz heart, bathe in roses, and even drink rose tea and eat rose jam kitchen witch style!
The point of such things is to help you connect with your fem side and make you feel more confident in your womanhood. Also, since magick works under the premise of it has to be possible in the first place...who is to say it will not help your transition go more smoothly? Some transwomen end up getting face feminization surgery and having their atoms apple removed. But not all women feel they need the facial surgery as the hormones gave them the desired result. Maybe pumping in that feminine energy on a daily basis helped promote and encourage things in a positive direction.
Also, red roses are connected to Aphrodite when her blood spilled upon white roses. Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty and feminine sensuality. These stories build good symbolism that can be used. You don't actually have to work with said Gods to use such examples and concepts. Other things that can help are using the days of the week corrospondences. So for Apollo I'd recomend Sunday...think it's pretty obvious being a Sun God and all. Aphrodite would be Friday for which is named after Freyja the Norse Goddess of love and many more things. But that being why it's the recomended day for love, beauty, feminity and the like.
I am strongly of the UPG opinion that Artemis is bisexual much like her twin brother Apollo. It shows she is a virgin because though she loved Orion and he wanted to marry her but he died. She travels with her band of Nymphai, protects women, spends time with many other Goddesses. Also, the Greeks did not have any word for lesbian. Women in Athens for example were the properity of men. Where as homosexuality in Greece was extremely normal. Infact, despite the fact Eros is married to Psyche which is a mortal turned into a Daimona/personified spirit/lesser goddess...he is a symbol of gay love. I mean, he is a male and a god of love so for male sensuality I suppose it makes sense. But to my knowledge he has never taken a male lover.
