Crystal ball gazing

Hi, I got a ring recently that can be used for divination but I'm not sure how to go about it? It is a rather small clear quartz set in bronze. I've read about cleaning and charging the crystal but I'm afraid of using liquid near the bronze. I'm thinking of using smoke but I'm not sure on how to use it because it's set in a ring. Any ideas?

Smoke cleansing will work just fine, if you allow the smoke to envelop the crystal and the ring it will cleanse it all in one. You could cleanse with running water if you wished, but you would need to insure you dry it completely to stop rusting.

In regards to using it for divination, using a crystal ball of any size for divination is known as scrying, it can also be done with a black mirror, or bowl of water. It is the skill of looking through an object and seeing signs, symbols or images in the item, these often relate to you and the answers that you seek regarding aspects of your life. It is less scripted than tarot cards with no definitive answer you can read out of a book, and what you see is completely up to interpretation based on your own situations.
