I like their stories in myth, they're quite fun to learn about.

I enjoyed some books I've read where there are vampire characters. The Jane Yellowrock series that deals with vampires in New Orleans is a great one.

But it pays to remember that vampires, such as blood-sucking immortal creatures do not actually exist.

I've always been fascinated by the mythology and stories of Vampyres especially the ones aboutVlad the Impaler and Elizabeth Bathory.

I have two book series' that are personal favorites. The Dark Hunters by Sherylin Kenyon, and the Dresden files. Both have more unique takes on the mythos than what commonly appears these days. And both series do some fantastic world-building along the way.
