Crafting A Poppet

When you are making a poppet, what do you put in the poppet. Like, if your making a poppet to use on yourself or someone, do you put info about the person in the poppet? along with the herbs. What can you also put in the poppet, i would like to know this.

I like to put a taglock of some sort, personally. For example, if someone asked me to cast a spell on them, I might ask for some of their fingernail clippings or a piece of hair to connect the poppet to that person.

I also like putting astrological connections, such as drawing the symbol of their Zodiac sign and putting it in the poppet.

You could also use a photo, a small personal item (nail clippers, a keychain they owned), a piece of paper with their name written on it, or just a piece of paper with information about them written on it, among many other options.

It depends on the person, though. I think putting things that connect the poppet to the person can be extremely helpful, but if that doesn't feel right or doesn't work for you, I wouldn't say you have to.

As far as other things to put in the poppet, I usually use rice as a filler. Sometimes I'll put a little salt in to purify the material used, and if it's a binding spell, I put a knotted string in the chest of the poppet. This does depend on the person, though. One of my friends has used a synthetic cotton-like filler and it worked fine. It really comes down to what the spell is for and what your personal beliefs are.

So, after you put the info in the poppet with the herbs, do you add stuffing in it? the kind of stuffing, you would use for stuff animals.
