Fairy rings and fairy sum

So do fairy rings exist in our world and if so what are they actually for.

Also I was wondering if people could summon fairies as a menageries.

Fairies gather to dance on fairy rings. And yes, they exist. Never enter a fairy ring.

You can make an offering to fairies in a garden, dedicate a place to them, and even work with them.
