Okay well thank you, and as for the Harry Potter magic, I have used quite a few of the spells to great effect I was just curious if anyone knows of the enchantments that were placed upon the room of requirement, because I have a way of casting the spells with just my wand alone and they come out pretty good. And, will the earth magic stuff allow me to influence the energies of the area?
Harry Potter style magic isn't real at all, except for maaaybbee a few details. You may want to look into the different elements, as they can be quite helpful when dealing with what Mother Nature throws at you, in terms of illness and weather patterns.
May I ask, if "Harry Potter magic isn't real" then why have I been able to cast the Patronus Charm, as outlined in Harry Potter, and it produce the effects similar to what was done in the series, both in protection mode, and in messaging mode *as Albus Dumbledore developed* and may I ask you, why has the Summoning Charm *Accio* worked to a great degree on items and information that I was seeking, not to mention, all of the protection charms that I have used from the Harry Potter series have worked as outlined, as well as, the healing charms that I had to use to help heal my brother when he was hit by a van going 75 miles per hour, and the doctors wrote in my brother's release papers that "his pain in his left shoulder improved significantly spontaneously in the ER." I am not wishing to start something I am just curious about your take on all of this. And thank you for your other ideas.
Firstly, yes: J. K. Rowling did a lot of research into British Traditional witchcraft as well as other witchcraft traditions of the region, and incorporated them into the books. But she herself does not believe in any of it as valid. She also changed a lot of things, which she may have incorporated, making it indirect, as well as making some things up. For a very easy example, Avada Kedavra is very much based on "abracadabra," and meant more to make people think about what they're saying, than to have any actual meaning in her books.
The Patronus charm is made up completely, to drive away another completely fictitious entity, the Dementor, named not only since its name sounds somewhat like 'demon' but also because of its effects (causing a person to experience a form of dementia after being 'kissed'). The author describes them as her personification of depression as an entity.
This could so very easily continue. But the point remains: The books are fiction. The spells therein, though some are based on some practices and traditions, are fiction.
First of all, may I ask, which one is it real or not, now that being said, yes you may be correct that the writer herself may not believe in it, however, look at the number one rule when it comes to wicca and the very foundation of this site, furthermore, may I ask have you ever tried even the simplest charms from Harry Potter out for yourself, because I know I have and they have worked for me, now I'm not trying to say that my way is the only way because the goddess and the god both say to each their own and who has the authority to say what will work and what won't or what is right and what is wrong except the practitioner themselves, now as for the spells themselves some of the ones that I have cast have been the summoning spell *accio* as well as the Patronus Charm and I followed the directions exactly, I chose a happy memory and I let it fill me completey and when I had recaptured the feeling of the memory, I cast the spell and let it erupt from my wand, and like in the books and movies my desired effect came to be. I used the spell to help my best friend out of depression. And recently, I was out on errands and I forgot something at home, and I cast the Patronus Charm as a message to one of my roommates to bring me the item, then 15 min later they showed up with item in hand. Bottom line, magic is magic live and let live. Not to mention the foundation of the Patronus Charm is Shamanism, which is quite real... Atleast for me. Thank you and blessed be )0(
Mage, I believe if you have had success it was only because of your intent. Saying accio or saying something like "May I acquire what I have lost" is doing the same thing if your focus is to bring back what you lost. Same with healing, and ALL magick, intent is what matters.
Thank you, that's how I view it, and I also have a personal policy which is like this, "If you are trying to do something, and you look up information on how to do what you arehoping and you go and perform the actions or procedure outlined and you get the same results as outlined, in what you found, would you argue with your own eyes?" That's my reasoning, now, out of curiosity, do you know of any types of magic that might help me to influence the physcial plane?
