May I also suggest differnt types of divination, pendulums,runes,tea leaves,scrying...Find what works for you.If you would like,And practice.

Also if you are interested in healing learn of reiki and the many different types of healing energies.
And mentors from other parts of the world are a great wealth of knowledge.
I have been studing for five years and am just now learning about psi balls and practing it.
another thing new mages should know is that being human is OK, and that pretending to be or thinking your a vampyre will not make you any cooler and will not make your spells work better.
Also try learning the many different classifications of magick: white, black, grey, green (both time and nature magick), red, blue. Also learn that they actually don't exist! They're just classifications for how you manipulate the magickal energies and what you do. Also learn the pathways of magick as well.
I agree , but also some of the newbies are kind of young and may get confused with all this thrown at them at once , and I think that maybe depending on what they want to learn , they need to start off with one thing at a time ...but I also think ceromonal magic is way to advanced for them and they have no exprience and could lead them into trouble .. Gys correct me if you think I aam wrong ..
but this thread is more to let new practitioners know what is out there and available to them.
and i also posted some concepts that others might call "advanced" though i just began 2 1/2 years ago, so i think of them as more beginner to intermediate. though i am pretty good at magick, so that might be why.
it cannot hurt to point people towards more advanced concepts, some might not know how to, but at least they will know it is there for when they are ready.
and others might understand it easily, thus helping them grow.
all in all, ceremonial magick is not dangerous, it is just a different way to practice.

Respect each person's individual choices and beliefs. Learn about them and share what you know. Our diversity is our strength, and we should not allow misunderstanding to weaken our community. III. CONTROL Do not allow your darkness to consume you. You are more than just your hunger, and you can exercise conscious control. Do not be reckless. Always act with a mind toward safety. Never feed because you think this makes you powerful; feed because this is what you must do. Be true to your nature, but never use it as an excuse to endanger those around you.
IV. ELDERS Give respect to those who have earned it. Anyone can claim a title, but a true leader will prove him or herself through dedication, hard work, and great deeds. Even so, leaders should be guides and not dictators. Look to them as examples, but always decide for yourself what you must do. Respect the person, not the position, and understand that your choices are always your own.
V. BEHAVIOR Know that there are repercussions to every action, and that you alone are responsible for your decisions. Educate yourself about risky behaviours, then always act with wisdom and common sense. Do not allow others to abuse you, but also, do not selfishly abuse. Respect the rights of others and treat them as you would be treated.
VI. DONORS Feeding should occur between consenting adults. Allow donors to make an informed decision before they give of themselves to you. Do not take rapaciously from others, but seek to have an exchange that is pleasant and beneficial for all. Respect the life that you feed upon and do not abuse those who provide for you.
VII. COMMUNITY Reach out to others in your community. Exchange ideas, information, and support. Be hospitable to others, and appreciate hospitality when it is extended to you. Do not engage in illegal activity, for this can endanger us all. Seek to nurture our community and support all those who do the same.
Alot of this should apply to everyone not just the Vampyres
(and as far as I know vamyres are a type of human too) and if there are such things as a real hollywood like vampires that think they are superior to mankind well... like Integra from the hellsing anime said "cowards who forfeited their humanity, because they were too weak. Don't look down on humans you monsters!"
