Re: Something to think about By: SueLearning Moderator / Adept

Barbarious I do think that all Ragnorok was trying to get through to you is this....If anyone leaves this site because they were annoyed by someone or something saying they want to be a mermaid or whatever yes it does get tiring, but what are we to do about it? We try and help them realize that they can't become one and if they honestly believe they can then so be it let them try. As for people leaving because of that well that is just silly. I'm sure we all get annoyed by some that come in with question about things we don't care about, but apparently they do and we should try to help everyone that has a question or wants to learn to the best of our abilities. If I ever left this site it would be my choice to do so I would not put blame on the new people that is just wrong and silly.
As Sue said. Barbarious, I understood what you were saying, but apparently what I was saying wasn't understood. Or perhaps it was and neither of us understood that the other understood? Anyways, Sue said my point pretty simply.
I understood exactly what you said, I just didn't give a crap. It was just the fact that you tried to make my opinion sound as the way you wanted it to be.
But like I said, keep it this way. Stop posting anymore before it begins DRAMA on the forums lol.
I didn't make any of your posts sound the way I wanted them to sound, if I did that then I'd be replying as if you were saying basically what I said. That nobody forced or made anyone else leave. Instead I replied as I saw your posts, not the way I wanted to see them, but how I did see them.
And telling me not to post only encourages me to post more. :)
I completely agree with Dragonheart6, a high-ranking member of this site caught my attention doing this, and thus, the issue was resolved. Please, we were all beginners once, why not just sigh and take another clueless, full of potential newcomers under your wing and hope they will shout you lunch one day?
Of course unless if they are so stubborn.. claiming themselves to be right and here to learn.. but they're not actually willing to learn.. then be my guest and play around with them..
But for all genuine newcomers, please welcome them with the attitude that you would welcome a tourist if you were a resident of a country who knew your way around.
I agree with Healer, it is an endless circle..
As for Ragnorok, the teachers are leaving simply because they've had enough teaching, or they're retiring, and they want to move on in peace, possibly slightly induced by the influx of internet trolls, and the newcomers that just want to be spoonfed, and stubborn newcomers. Everyone has a limit to how many they take under their wing, and guide.
Yes, they aren't forced to leave, but as the amount of teachers decline, then the amount of clueless newcomers increase, and since theres more clueless newcomers.. you get what Healer said.. Blind leading the blind... Which frustrates more teachers, causing more teachers to leave.. and thus the number of blind people increases exponentially..
*Draws y=2^x graph*
So.. all we ask for is be polite and helpful to the newcomers when possible, if a newcomer is already looking towards a specific field of magic that you don't have sufficient knowledge to help.. REFER THEM TO SOMEONE THAT DOES! I.e. the Major coven leaders (Priests and Priestesses), your friends that you KNOW are experienced in that particular field of magic..
Please do not play around with newcomers. Help them, it's good for your Karma (for those who believe in karma), good for your 3foldlaw(for those that follow the wiccan rule), generally good for your social well being, you never know, you may make some friends out of the newcomers =]
We are here to help each other, we are not here to tell people to go rack off.
That is more understandable, Sir Prize, and I agree with what you said. My main problem is saying it is the fault of newbs that the teachers left.
As I said, I believe that people who intend to teach (and the truly great teachers) have enough tolerance and patience to not allow newbs to force them away. Retiring, taking a break, just trying to get away is one thing, saying it's all their fault (as some people have tried to say [no, barb, this doesn't mean specifically you] ) that these people left is another.
1. treat others the way you want to be treated.
2. life sucks. get over it.
3. if you dont like your conditions change them.
4. nobody will EVER always get along with another person.
5. you are the only one that can control your actions, no matter what anybody says or does to you.
6. pain is only weakness leaving the body.
7. crying is good for you. it lets the pain out.
8. fear keeps us alive. it gives us what we need to know to stay away from.
9. live your life the way you want it to be lived
10. we ARE ALL intitled to our own opinion. dont try to force yours on others. its rude, and not well accepted.
p.s. more to come from the mind of a crazy person(me) as soon as they pop into my head...who knows...i may even make an entire new thread about it.
"ok....heres the deal....

Now, Evil_Gunthix, could you please relate that to this topic..?
Oh, and for point number 10. "we ARE ALL intitled to our own opinion. dont try to force yours on others. its rude, and not well accepted." We aren't forcing our opinions on others? We're.. discussing..?
That may not be all the facts. To me,some teachers just decided to go missing.Others wanted to continue their practice of magick. Some created covens outside and inside the cyberspace.
Few decided to experiment magick with food.(no joke)
Fortunately, about 50%(just a guess)of members are actually those people capable of teaching others on basics or various form of magick.
I just want to imply that everyone here is both a teacher and a beginner.
Ragnorok.. If you havent noticed you made it seem like I said the new people are FORCING the the teachers on the site to leave - Hence the example you gave me.
And I barely mentioned new people, I said role-players/trolls. So seriously.. Just seriously end it. It's unwanted, and besides you were the first to start this, so you might as well end it.
