You know, darkboy, a lot of people claim that wicca, paganiam and druidism are not real religions. How would you feel if people were saying that about your beliefs?
I'm not Christian, but I know a lot of people who are, and they would be deeply upset to hear you say that.
Also, I may be misinformed, but Jesus was resurected, not immortal. He did die, he returned from the dead, three days later, before returning to heaven.
Actually, the cross comes from the cross that Jesus was crucified on, which were commonly used by romans as an exercution method.
Maybe you should stop wasting time slating other people beliefs, and spend that time finding yourself, your own beliefs, and bettering yourself as a person. When you have something better to teach than petty hate for a belief system I doubt you truly understand, perhaps more people will wish to learn from you.
that was the best beat down I've heard all night
and very true, perhaps, darkboy, your cynical view of christianity is not based on research but rather on your own unwillingness to pic a religion and stand up for it?
while this one may not have done much resurch, thease people have, may i direct you all to thease websites, have fun, and be sure to remove spaces in the link
just so you know, they are all antichristianity sites, with good points to give, but, i would reccomend reading them, and i challenge people to prove them wrong:)
Well, while you are entitled to your opinion, perhaps you should search a bit more and try to piece things together instead of reading an article and calling it truth.
While it is believed that Jesus is immortal, it in no way states that his physical being is roaming around. Immortality can also be obtained by keeping a persons memory alive. Because he is widely recognized, he is infact immortal. He lives on through teachings and ideas of who or what he was.
Hitler, Buddah, Ghandi, Martian Luther King J.R, Malcome X, J.F.K....all just men. All immortal in the sense that NO ONE will forget who they are. Their legends, stories, bios, ect...live on.
I'd like to see where you read that he "gained divinity overnight". Jesus was supposedly the son of God. The direct connection to God in physical form. Naturally, he would have been born divine, not obtain it somewhere down the line. (Based on the stories).
Christianity does borrow symbols, and many denominations follow pagan traditions.
This was done to make it easier to transition pagans into Christianity, as well as they simply didn't think of anything other than existing symbols. Keep in mind, the first Christians were converted pagans. Naturally they borrowed from what they were used to, and in turn used that to help others transition into Christianity as well.
The Vatican is not the sole power of Christianity. It is the power of the Catholic Church, and while the Catholic Church has an obscene number of followers, by no means will Christianity as a whole die if secrets from the archives are released.
Do not judge an umbrella term religion by the actions of a particular denomination.
Furthermore, while you are free to believe in what you want..so is everyone else. You DO NOT have to believe in Christianity, but do not mock or belittle those who do, for if you do, you are no better than those who belittle you for your spiritual choices.
Ignorance and intolerance beget ignorance and intolerance.
