As many will tell you, magic itself has no color. I would say it describes walking the fine line between "good" and "bad" intent. That the user is not using magic to harm or help others, but acting more as a form of balance. Just and idea :)

what i was taught, black magic is bad, white magic is good, and gray magic is the in between which could be considered either white or black like love spells. mind you, this was during my year and a day and it was a way to judge a spell as positive or negative in my 'coven' because although it's the intent of the magic, for myself, when i heard 'black magic' i automatically avoided it because i didn't want any bad karma. gray magic, like i stated love spells, made me think. i was in high school, and i liked a guy, and although love spells are easy to come by, i never cast them because right before i did, i asked myself if i really wanted to, the spell would make him love me, not me, and since i was manipulating free will, i was preforming black magic, and would receive negative results. at least that's how i see gray magic, a form that can be good or bad and you need to think about it. kind of like chaos in a way, it can do anything to achieve your goal, even if someone gets hurt.

It's sad what the modern world is doing to the minds of those newly entering the world of magick and spirit. It frustrates me...
That's why I write so much here. People over complicate and judge too much instead of looking at magick in terms of what is natural. Categorizating, dissecting, and labeling...it's just sad.

People take to heart what they read and are told over Nature itself, the web of life, the ebb and flow of the world. Why can't you just open your eyes and observe! Society is corrupted by men who try to control the masses. Nature is pure and beautiful. Nature is what holds the keys to wisdom. No matter how much people may try to press their views on others, nature never lies.

Our future is doomed with so many thinking in black and white! The world is colorful--a wide spectrum of color. Only text on a page or screen is black and white.

Magick is a part of nature. It isn't some foreign "power" that can be accessed only by picking up a book. People in older days had only one thing to guide them, Nature. And through their senses, their minds, and their emotions they learned! They thought for themselves, reflected within, and observed what was around them.

A losing battle I suppose...

Gray magic is sometimes known as effect magic, like changing the weather. It's the least known about because spell casters usually pick a side (to practice good or evil.) If you don't pick a side then gray magic is a good magic for you. There's been more of it lately, though, even in a new film. I made a religion for this that I named christian-satanism.

it's been said already but, magic has no colour, 'grey' though describes magic the best to me. once you study magic a little you notice a lot of grey to it instead of black and white. my favourite example of 'grey magic' is your friend is sick, they don't want you to cast a spell over them, but you do it anyway, and they get better. while you had the best intentions, you went against their will, so it was a negative act. you need to think will magic, but 'grey magic' involves a lot of soul searching and asking yourself if what you're doing is right.

grey magic is more about balance as I have learned its not black or white it's neutral but can be considered as both white and black buy some people
