The thing with wands is not about what J.K.Roouling wrote in the books of Harry Potter. Wands are just pointers of the energy you vent in case to do something, a spell or anything else. Wood is venting energy too, which obviously changes the energy you are venting. As we are venting energy as humans, trees are alive creatures. The stick you cut out from a tree, still has energy in it. Some say that every kind of tree has a unique energy, and make us have deferent feelings while looking or touching them. In fact, it is just a pointer that is draining the energy of yours and point it on the location you are pointing it. By my experience, I believe that it would be more useful to create a wand and put some crystals or gemstones. Stones are known for their abilities. So, you can just search on the abilities of deferent kinds of wood or stones and create a mixture of them on a wand.

"Nope. This is not like the movies or harry potter. The early witches didn't use wands nor sticks. That's something that you stereotyped from the movies. Although, a wand would be more like a ceremonial tool it does not have any special energy or 'magic' to it. Get your head were it is right now."

just want to comment on this post..

actually some do believe that wands hold specific attributes because of the quality of wood used in making the wand..

and if you would just read the book of franz bardon "practice of magical evocation" he stated there that by continuous charging of the wand (by a specific purpose) it will hold attributes and will even lasts for centuries even though the owner is not existing on this physical plane anymore.. he also stated that it will do its purpose also even though other people holds the wand..

-just don't conclude things like its the fact.. be sure to have such references.. (please don't misinterpret this)..

blessed be..

A wand is not needed specifically, but it makes a wonderful channel for the energy to pass thorugh.

The wand is used as an extension of the hand. This tool consists of magically charged items to help direct and amplify the energy one is utilizing as they cast. Wands are made from different materials such as woods/metals, stones/crystals, charms, carved symbols, and other adornments which give extra energy to castings. Wands are often made for not only general purposes but also specifically for specialized magics such as healing or prosperity.

Magic can be cast with or with out a wand. As stated before it is a personal choice as to the use of a wand while casting .

Personally I've never used a wand or felt the need to cast a circle. If you need help to focus your energy/ mind then I imagine a wand could be advantageous.

As a beginner, you might want to use a wand. Its a way to help you focus on your workings. But your finger will do just fine. Its used to point energy, like casting of circle. So if you have one, great. If not, don't worry. You can make one later. Blessed Be...
