One of the best books I've found on the Chakras and how to work with them is "Wheels of Light" by Anodea Judith. You might want to pick up a copy to read and study and then use the exercises to work with your chakras.

Chakra work is an ongoing and very personal process that is truly helpful in magical work, so learning as much about it as possible is a great idea.
