You're right about that. you do have to know when to keep silent, but when I wear my penticle,(always) and people ask,(uhh...are you, like,... a witch?Do you, like..ummm...do spells?. Do you ever, y'know, do love spells?...There's this guy...)(yes, yes, and that depends.), I tell them. And more people are recognizing the symbol, now then they used to.All the publicity on TV, I guess. lol.

way to go C I always wear my pentacle too. I'm used to the strange looks now. Occasionally someone recognizes the meaning. I don't think we should have to hide who we are anymore.

I was at work one shift and this woman came up to me and said "Did you know that you are wearing an occultic symbol? that is a very bad thing as it will attract demons, bad spirits and weirdos."

Of course I couldn't say anything as we rely on customers, especially the middle aged to the elderly. Of course most of them are catholic so I can't say anyhting or we would lose our market because people don't want to associate with a witch for fear of their souls.

Another time I had some lady tell me that when she was a teenager, Satan drew her in too and as she got older, she saw the light of Christ. That was after telling her wht my pentacle represented and how Wicca is a nature based religion.

Prejudice dies hard...

Well when they have a religion that say everyone elses is wrong and their followers are evil, its pretty hard for them to not be stuckup @ssholes. I hate that they feel they have to witness to everyone.

I hate being Preached at!!! Had enuff of that when I was a Kid, living with a family that was in a jim jones type Xtian cult.
I got out as quick as I could, after they married me off to another cult member, ranaway. I have nothing against Xtians, you know,I have a friend who is pastor of a methodist church. She accepts my beliefs and never tries to convert me. Its the fundies I can do without.
I believe that everyone has aright to believe as they will.
If you believe you are a jinn, then dammit, you're a jinn. And what I think shouldn't matter one bit.
I believe I'm a Witch I can do Magick and can talk to trees and animals and they can answer me if they're in the mood to do so.

To a lot of people I am a weirdo, off my rocker and just plain crazy. Those people can go soak their heads in a bucket of piss.
Like Popeye, I yam what I yam.

i respect that. and i will not get into the differences between believing oneself a person that can work magick, and believing one is a conjured Djinn raised by gypsies.

thank you for coming to the site, may you and i argue, and learn much from each other.
