Well...yes and no. There's a tradition of Old Man Winter in many Scandinavian countries, which influenced the legend of Santa Claus. There's even Saint Nicholas who could have been an actual living person. The gods Odin and Dionysus might have influenced the legend as it grew.
But is there factually, literally, physically a bearded old man who lives in some barber shop striped tower in the North Pole who passes moral judgment on all children once a year? No. (Or if there is, I would want to keep my kids away from his interference with my parenting.)
There might be such a person in the Astral Plane. But then again there's everything on the astral plane, it's a very silly place.

I didn't say Santa was real or not real.I was talking about the jolly fat man in the red suit! That was an invention to advertise Coca Cola; and still does! But, the "idea" of Santa Claus (Dutch sinta klaas) goes back a long, long time.
I meant to say that Santa Claus is both real and not real, including the jolliness and the Coca-Cola colour scheme. It's just that there's a difference between real meaning (the idea of Santa Claus) and real fact (the history, motives, practices, and image related to the idea...but that maybe becomes something else or gets really far off-track the idea.) (See also: Edward Cullens the Vegetarian Vampire.)
@ZenMagick101 How do you know Mermaids and all the other things you mentioned are not real? How can anyone create something that is not already present in this universe and beyond? I've been visited by different spirits including "mermaids" so i firmly believe everything exists.. its about aligning your energies with them or opening yourself for possibilities of different kinds as far as i know more than 12000 different types of spirits exist on this planet...
It comes down to the lore of the creatures themselves, and then the scientific possibility. I myself firmly believe in mermaids (singular to the ones shown in the Animal Planet Docu-drama) and believe dragons did at one point exist (we're talking Dino-era). I believe in these things because of the plausibility of their existence, and the ability to reason that they could survive.. Creatures like vampires and werewolves however, are originated from true human conditions. Take to googlè and have a look-see!

Anybody who believes in Mermaids,Werewolves,Vampires, Fairies, and other such creatures, are living in a fantasy world. But,that's okay! If you are enjoying your fantasy, then carry on.Believe whatever you wish.
