The council of Nicene decided what biblical canon was and largely determined what the then still newly formed Christianity would preach. This included the belief that Jesus was the son of God, but also God.

There are those who believe Jesus was a prophet, a man with some nice ideas, but nothing more. Catholicism is far from the original conception of Christianity, in fact Jesus would probably despise most of modern Christianity which is thoroughly concerned with wealth.

Holy books are meant to be interpreted metaphorically, not literally. The bible is not a history book, nor a science text book. It is not disrespectful to point out that it is nonsense to believe you can turn water into wine or stone into gold- it is scientific fact that these things are impossible- You cannot change the chemical composition of an item by wishing really hard.

Had, those are nice points to bring up, but science isn't always correct. Because HUMANS are the ones determining the scientific beliefs of the community of science and the public. We once thought that it shouldn't be possible for Bumblebees to fly, but look! Science now explains how that is possible! I am confident that science will pick up where human error has faulted us.

Also, not every Christian takes the bible as a metaphorical text, others do. What you say is "nonsense" is the legitamite belief of millions. Same goes for magic, astrology, religion, the concept of God, and plenty of other things.
What you say is not the belief of everyone, you should at least try to respect it, but you obviously aren't.
