Offensive Language

I personally use the ward fluffy for those people who are trying to role play instead of seeking knowledge, yes i also agree that we should help them out but for sure i know there are some people out there who never stop with their annoyances even after explaining to them such thing so when i used fluffy in my bio then i don't mean it in a bad way, or trying to insult others.

I respect every member in here and will always do.

I'm from New York and we always hear Fluff but it has a different meaning,It can be someone who asks hard but if soft inside we call it soft in the Middle
When used in Terms of Magick it's kinda the same
But SOM States their usage of the word
Its not meant in any other way as it described
A site owner would never leave that up to insult members
Different words mean different things to different people
When we all know the meaning in use it's all good.

Yes you are completely right. Every words has two meaning, one can be positive while the other is negative so again this also depends how the words effect or absorb by individual's brain.

It strikes me that using the term "Fluffy" by the definition provided makes those using the term to become, ironically... Fluffy. But, alas the internet must needs have it's hierarchy.

Personally I would not mark those members like that
Anyone with a brain can tell that they are in a Fantasy world just by post History but that's just me.

I find it sad that we live in a world that is overly PC
And we have to watch every single thing we say because some group may be offended.Its come to Far,People can no longer speak without walking on Eggshells.Years ago people had more backbone

I am aware that PC speech can be taken too far. However, if we are trying to maintain a community where people feel accepted then we need to be sensitive in our language. I wasn't aware that fluffy is used to insult fat people, but I have heard it used in unflattering reference to gay and transgender men. If cussing isn't allowed in public chat or the forums because it offends people, then neither should words be that are used to single out minorities.

Agreed, if there is to be any sense of community, there should be a compromise, be careful about what you say when talking about other people, but do not let it limit your speech options. Agreed, some people can be overly sensitive, but a good portion are rightfully sensitive towards words they may find discriminating or is used to separate them from other people, and I personally find the word "Fluff" to be of no exception.

The term "fluff" did not originate here. I've been on other magick sites that coined the phrase as "fluff bunny" and 'fluffy bunny" when it comes to fakery or role-play in magick. Take it as the meaning it was meant for here. Being fat has nothing to do with a magical site. Get over it.
