I posted earlier in this thread that I was going to romance Fenris in Dragon Age 2.
Gods, I was so wrong; let me tell you a little story about why.
While I was playing Dragon Age: Inquisition, I had the urge to play the earlier games (because what do chronological order and patience mean, honestly?) and I ended up watching the Fenris romance because a friend of mine was super obsessed with that character and I was curious.
So I find out that this character is an elven warrior who was formerly a slave to a Tevinter Magister, and thus, hates slavers and mages. Me, being all predispositioned towards mages like I am (duh), decided that it would be fun to create a mage character to romance him on the friendship path (which would have been more challenging than rivalmancing him as a mage).
Having already seen fanarts and comics and little memes of DA2 on Pinterest, I was already exposed to the character Anders, who is a human Grey Warden mage and the two friggin' hate each other's guts. I initially thought he'd be a dick and knowing Fenris doesn't like mages, I made my character and I went to pick up Anders first (because I like mages, ye?).
You have to find Anders by talking to other Fereldans; refugees of the land him and Hawke (the main character) both hail from. He ends up being underground in a make-shift clinic healing other refugees (yas) and is first suspicious of Hawke because he wants to protect said refugees (yas). You need to talk to him for maps of an underground expedition, so he decides he wants your help before he gives them to you.
The first thing he mentions is Ser Pounce-A-Lot, his cat (yas) that he had to give away and he's really jovial and light hearted (yas). What he needs your help with, however, is freeing a friend of his that he'd lost contact with. You go to the temple to free said friend, who has essentially been turned into a walking vegetable. Anders goes nuts because of what the templars did to his friend and you end up finding out he's possessed by a spirit named Justice (not really yas, but interesting).
The battle is over and Anders becomes himself again; his friend temporarily returned to normal due to the energy of the spirit reconnecting him to the Fade for a bit (essentially the astral plane). Said friend wants to die still being a mage and not being Tranquil (walking, emotionless vegetable cut off from dreams, magic, and their own identity). Anders ends up killing his friend out of mercy.
When Hawke gets back to Anders' clinic, he explains the situation with Justice and how they came to be of one body. While he is doing this, he was mercilessly tugging on my heart strings because I have a weakness for kind and tortured, yet still able to be light hearted souls. If you ignore the romance line in this conversation, he brings it up anyway in the next.
The next conversation, he tells Hawke that he had a friend like them once and that he really feels like he knows them and ends up calling them beautiful (at least for my female Hawke). You have one of three options here; encourage him assertively, encourage him passively, or be a fuckin' dick to him. Damn you, Bioware. Damn you.
At this point, I'm all "Damn it Anders. Damn it Anders. DAMN IT ANDERS." [SPOILER ALERT] [usually people say this because he blew up a church] [T'IS OKAY TO LOOK NOW]
When I played Dragon Age: Inquisition, I romanced Solas of my own volition and then decided to watch the video with his complete romance, thus seeing spoilers. I signed up for that feels train. I knew what I was getting into.
When I played Dragon Age 2, I was all for romancing Fenris.
I've heard rumors Tool is actually going to be releasing a new album soon. I mean... I've heard that for YEARS now, but it seems there might be some credibility this time around.
For those who are into 1) roleplaying games, 2) pathfinder and 3) sci-fi...
Come this august is coming Starfinder!
And for the real nerds among us, whoop! It coming out with its own compatability licence! Oh yes!

I'm super excited for Yona of The Dawn to come out next year. There is no offical release date yet but the rumors are early 2018. They thought there would be more in 2016 but the earthquake set it back. But now the mangaka (creator of the original manga) has come out with enough new mangas to be material for the second season. I saw the entire twenty four dubbed episodes and the three OVAs subbed since they were never dubbed.
I need more! I live on reverse harem romance anime. Nothing makes me squee and fangirl more than a bunch of bishounen boys fighting to protect that one clumsey derpy girl with a good heart...Like every reverse harem evers plot lol. And she is always a princess or a priestess, true story. Hak is my anime husbando crush, gah so manly and tough! I love a man with a real big.....polearm. My favored weapon for melee combat is usually a spear or better yet a naginata. So I absolutely adore long reaching weapons.
The four dragons warriors are bae too! They even made the blonde guy Zeno super fine. I'm not crazy for blonde dudes so that's saying a lot. I wanna go back and read the manga now too. I'm nuts for reverse harems like Fushigi Yuugi, Pretear, The Story of Seiunkoku, Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, Wallflower, Boys Over Flowers, Haruka Beyond The Stream of Time, Diabolik Lovers, *ear piercing screech so high only dogs can hear it*
Here is Yona for anyone interested in watching it:
