From a Qabalistic and ceremonial magic standpoint demonic entities are generally termed qlippoth. They are sometimes called empty shells, but I think that is another type of entity all together. Please allow me to give a little Qabalistic explination.
When you look at the Qabalistic Tree of Life and the four worlds, you will typically see four trees, one in each world. Sometimes these four worlds are seen as the physical, astral, mental and spiritual but that is not exactly accurate. The four worlds are actually stages of progress in the process of creation. Atziluth, the divine level, is the creative spark. This is where the idea of creation is generated, and there are divine names for each of the ten spheres on the tree in Atziluth representing different aspects of creation. Next is Briah, the archangelic level. This is, to use a simplified explination, where the "blueprints" of creation are formed. It is here that the idea becomes solidified into something that can be created. For the Tree of Briah there are archangels for each sphere, who serve as foremen who superverise workers. Third is Yetzirah, the world of the angelic choirs. This is where the foundation is actually built and the work actually done. The Choirs of Angels serve as the workers building creation, and like the archangels and divine names one is assigned to each sphere. Finally, there is the world of Assiah, the created world, which is represented by the galactic swirlings, the zodiac, and the planets. This is the physical world of creation. The whole Tree is balanced, so that force or activity is contained by form or restraint, and form is freed with with force. It is quite literally the map of creation, and all of these entities are building and organizing.
So, where does that leave the qlippoth? Many people think there is an inverse tree, the mirror opposite of the normal Tree, that symbolizes the qlippoth. But, that is not accurate. Each sphere has a virtue and a vice associated with it. For example, Chesed, which is the sphere of Jupiter, is a ruling energy that lovingly and gently guides and "rules". It balances Geburah, Mars, which is the more forceful authority. They balance each other. But, unbalanced rule can lead to stagnation, totalitarianism and slavery. This would be the sphere of Chesed moving into an unbalanced state which would result in a lack of growth, and eventually breakdown of the system. This is the nature of the qlippoth. They are the destructive forces that balance the creative forces symbolized in the regular Tree. Just as seen in nature, there are times where the old must be removed to make way for the new. Think of an forest fire that burns off old parts so that new life can grow. Of course, this force can be unbalanced too. When this happens you have out of control, destructive forces. Just like you have the archangels and the angelic choirs, you have demon kings or rulers and legions. There are no qlippoth for the level of Atziluth, because the processes of creation and destruction are created and balanced in the mind of the divine at this level. They are actually created at the same time.
This is why the working with the qlippoth is generally reserved for adepts who have some large amount of experience. Working with the qlippoth before working with the angelic forces can lead to situations where the practitioner has no way of controling the naturally destructive forces. Think about it like this: if you go camping, and make a campfire, you clear out a place for the fire, remove anything that would prevent the fire from growing out of control, make a fire pit or fire ring, maybe have water and dirt on hand incase of emergencies, and you monitor the fire to make sure it does not burn out of control. Working with the qlippoth without the proper preperation is like not clearing anything, starting a fire, pouring gasoline on it, and then going into your tent and not monitoring it. It could, and likely will, start a large, destructive fire. It is much easier to control the fire properly first than to try to control it after it is a wildfire.
This is not to say that the qlippoth are lesser or subordinate to the angelic side. They are, or should be, balanced. Now, of course, there will be those who post that I am completely wrong, and that is ok. We're expressing opinions here. And others may differ. My advice is simply to look at all options before you dismiss any. You never know where the truth lays.
My opinion is all demons have a good side and a bad side you should try to friend the demon it may be bad to other but nice to you all demons are different 1 can be nice to you mean to others or mean to you and nice to others.Goodluck trying to talk with them! :D
In Kemeticism, we have Netjeri (kind of like [usually] friendly genii) and demons. Neither are necessarily good or bad.
Generally I hear that when people refer to angels, they mean helpful (nice) spirits - possibly even spirit guides. Demons would be the flip side and mean harmful (bad) or destructive spirits. But again, good and bad are relative notions, and different people mean different things.
I suggest starting with the book "Modern Magick" as it will give you enough information on actual ceremonial magick to select a medieval grimoire to info on summoning and making a pact with a demon. You can't just read this book, you have to actually do it.
Here's another link on ceremonial magick :

There is a dialog going with these beings and you, but you cannot detect it. It's unconscious.
If you want to be made more conscious and aware of it, mediate on it. You will see yourself communicate with them in your dreams. You will know it. Don't be alarmed by it, just chill when you detect it happening.
Earth, this realm, is home to demons as well. Demons more react to one's behavior and emotional state than perpetrate. Demons might seem malicious in nature, in truth they are just responding to you.
I work with demons alot. And I have never had a bad experience with them. I work with Azazel continuously and Shax is my protector. I can say the more you work with them the more protective they are of you. Ive worked with several others and they are all loyal at least the ones Ive had experience with. But they dont baby you they expect you to work for what you want.
