i use a Native American blanket as a cloak
i use an axe and hatchet instead of a sword and athame sometimes not vary often though i do have an athame but i sometimes use the axe and hatchet for spells that deal with strength because i see a axe as a better representation for strength then a small athame
I had a black lighter and a white lighter which I happened upon by a strange coincidence once. I was thinking about making a talisman and all of a sudden I realized I had a black lighter in my left pocket and a white lighter in my right pocket. I decided to use them. I infused the black lighter with energy and willed for it to bring me power, then I willed the white lighter to bring me peace. I noticed that the general atmosphere of a place would change when people smoked anything with either one, the white lighter would bring about calm, funny conversations, and the black lighter always brought on heavy, deep conversations about money or plans. I used them to enhance magical workings too. I finally threw a powerful hex with all the energy I had stored in the black one and on that same day it stopped lighting when I tried to light it, then my friend asked for it and when I gave it to him he had no problem lighting it...
Then I gave the white one away on the same day when I met a man who was suicidal after I heard his story of pain and loss. I decided he needed it more than I did. After I gave away my two talismans I happened upon a golden dollar by chance.... that's my new talisman for now, crazy stuff happens with talismans.
that is an awesome story chatician. I use lighters as talismans too. It started with me marking them with a knife so people wouldn't steal it from me when i let them borrow it. I eventually started carving bindrunes into all of my new lighters, i still do.
I sometimes have a purpose in mind, and other times i just start carving and come up with something on a whim, but it's always useful and always makes sense for the time i have it.
I use a glow in the dark moon. It absorbs light so I use it to collect moonlight and a pull for the energy of moonlight, which I then draw from in rituals. Also carry around with me for on the fly, energetic work. Its awesome!
The wierdest tool I've ever used is a tampon. I was looking for something to cast a protection barrier around my friends house. I needed something with an absorbant quality to represent the absorption of negative energies (which would be used to actually absorb them). I scanned for various things like sponges, rags, etc. All rags and towels were in the wash. No sponges were to be found. When I was in the bathroom, the idea hit me. My friend now has a tampon hanging in their room.
I use a old fashioned wooden walking stick with runes for protection carved onto the hooked handle and symbols connected to harm at the other end where it resembles a rod.
The shepherds staff
The rod
also it is something I can lean on when I can't do everything alone. The crutch magnifies my power through runes I carved onto the staff (the bit where the handle and rod meet)
Hope that is unusual enough. I also use a scarf and I connect little bits of jewelry to spirits I communicate with.
I have been practicing cartomancy lately. So instead of tarot and oracle cards, I use normal playing cards.
I also lace my shoes in an upright pentagram for good luck.
