Racism has nothing to do why people find it quite annoying they call magic(k) "black" and "white". It's apart of a sense of mind, knowing that calling these things are labeling them good and evil. "Negative" magic(k) can be used for good things as well as "positive" can be used for bad.
This is why I call it both dark light black white positive negative yin yang
Because its balance
Opposites attract
Which is why I named my main god and goddess
Hecate and Apollo
Dark and light
So I say dark and light because its my opinion
You have yours
And I have mine
Oh yes I do believe dark or in your case negative magick can be used for good
But I still don't use it unless my or another's life is in danger
Which makes me to believe that hexes curses
What ever you may call it is not necessary
i find nothing wrong with "dark" and "light" being used, not even "black" and "white", the biggest issue with this is do to people's perceptions of what these terms can mean. it is generally known what someone means when they use these terms, and when it is not all it takes is a simple question to clarify. people like simplicity, and that is just what those labels are, whether right or wrong it is what it is. you learn to either live with it, or keep telling someone they are wrong till the day you pass. however that being said "positive" and "negative" are also subjective, witch. since you are pretty much doing the same thing he is, perhaps you should not even bother with this as you are making yourself look ignorant.
harm, if you know how to visualize correctly you can easily read something without even slightly bothering your visualization. it is also not stupid to use "dark" magic, is it a part of many older traditions and is highly acceptable as such. in general this love and life thing is mostly new age. that being said you should respect other people's traditions and not call their practices stupid as it is not a good way to make friends. ;)
perhaps it would do you good to pick up a book instead of living in your own delusional world that there is only one type of proper practice. magic's possibilities are vast, and as such so are the workings within it.
Thing is record myself and not look at the book because to me and other people not everyone ruins the energy and just takes longer to do sometimes it's hard to keep visualization when turning your head over and over again and also people sometimes get paranoid when having to read a book saying to themselves I need this perfect
But yes not being ignorant just giving my opinion
Maybe it's different with you
Maybe it's different with me
But like I said
Opposites attract :)
That is your opinion, doesn't mean that everyone else who have also posted their opinions are wrong because they differ from yours. Others view magick in a different way, some have different ethics, beliefs and way of doing their spell work than others, and that's ok, it doesn't mean it's wrong. There are no set in stone facts in magick apart from you can't change dna or go against the laws of nature.
Don't forget about the Law of Concealment. I feel that is the most essential rule to follow when it comes to spell casting. Don't tell anyone and forget about the spell.
I don't believe in Karma so I don't believe in harm no one. Either way your post sets forth a good foundation for anyone who is new to this.
I have to say, Harm, that you are wildly incorrect if you take into account my path (at least on the book part which is the main focus of this response).
In Egypt, words were power, and words spoken with power were important. These words would create what the person desired, or what they most feared if they stumbled or said it incorrectly. A single change in one word can change the whole tone of the passage. In Egypt, there were specific priests who would stand to the sides and recite hymns, etc, to the gods. In heka (magic), the person's ability to properly recite the words is necessary, and so reading from a script/book/piece of paper is not only acceptable, but necessary.
Please do not assume you know all paths which use magic, or that you are able to say what practitioners should or shouldn't do. :)
