The astral is how you perceive it. You don't view the astral with physical eyes so it's not always perceived in the same ways. Some people can and do see the astral planes in gray-scale.

Yes you can communicate with other Souls or Astral bodies. Telepathicly or like you do on the physical, verbally.

You don't have physical vocal chords and telepathy is more of an outdated word for acute connections and bonds so it's really kind of a suggestive thing. You're giving it a gamble since everyone perceives things much more differently on the astral planes than they do on the physical plane.

Perception, exactly, I perceive it as me talking verbally to another Soul. As well as telepathically as well.
