Craft Names

I have come to know that you may give your craft name to those who you believe you can trust with it. Or you can keep it just for you (and your coven if you belong to one). The decisions is really up to you.

If you feels right to you, go ahead. If not, then keep it for only your ears.

I used numerology, and my Craft Name is "Cat Gazer." :)

This is wonderful! Thank you as always for yet another well written piece. It has gone to my void of favorites, along with a lot of your other works.

I use my magickal name, Oroboros, on all the magickal sites that I subscribe to, and on all my spells and workings that I do.
This is the name that I feel describes me at this moment. If I join a real life Coven, they will give me a new magickal name.
I like the symbol of the Oroboros. It represents regeneration, change, transformation. Just like me.

Not all covens assign a magical name to their members. Some do, it is right. But many want their members to find their own magical names. The Tradition of which I am High Priestess requires that our students find their own magical names before they are initiated.

I absolutely love reading all your posts. I am new to this site and I am just overwhelmed by what I read and by what I am learning . I have defiantly found my true calling in this life. How do I change my username on here

I chose my craft name because I have always since I could remember been drawn to the Phoenix. When I was very young, I remember seeing a painting of a Phoenix and i was completely mesmerized. That feeling stuck with me throughout my life even though I had not begun my journey on the path. Once I decided to start my craft I knew that had to be my craft name because i felt it in my soul.

A fine post. Very good. I like my name, but don't really think it "fits" for magickal purposes. Which is why I chose my magickal name
