Hello I am new to Wicca and this site. I have for many years had reoccurring dreams of Grizzly bears. Most of the times they are attacking me or my children. sometimes they have been benign. They are very powerful and sometimes terrifying dreams and very realistic and detailed. I'm part native american so I have a real connection to most animals, wild and domestic. I've been told the bear signifies the healing arts, and the nightmare dreams of them could be the bear just trying to get my attention to go toward the healing arts. What is your take on this?
A keynote for the Grizzly bear is awakening the power of the unconscious. Its cycle of power will be in spring and summer. Thats when it will be most powerful. The bear has lunar symbology as well giving it ties to the subconscious and even the unconscious mind. This could mean your subconscious could be very strong. . The bear can teach you to draw upon all your inner stores of energy and essence. Even ones that have never been accessed. Meditating on the bear can help teach you to go within yourself to find the answers you are searching for. Also some questions to ask yourself would be are you being too critical lately on yourself or to others? Is your judgment off, are you wearing rose colored glasses? Pay more attention to life and your communications to yourself and others when bear is making itself aware to you. Also bears semi hibernate. It can be beneficial to you to go out and enjoy nature and all the blessings she brings. Don't stay cooped up in the house all the time.
The whale symbolizes creation, power of song, and awakening inner depths and it's cycle of power is year round. So there is no time when it is more powerful. It is always on an even keel of energy since they are active year round. All whales have blubber which serves to insulate and store energy for the whale. The whale can help teach how to insulate yourself and to use your creative energies more conservatively. Whales use sonar to hear, which means you may have a natural sensitivity to sounds. You maybe hearing things other people do not. Sound is the creative force of life. Directing it and responding to its feedback is part of what the whale teaches. You can use this to tap hidden levels of the mind or to even accelerate the manifestation of goals.
I had a dream with a deer. But it starts with me in a field and a dark horse comes to take me for a ride but im afraid of the horse. Just when I think the horse is going to take me like it or not the largest deer a buck runs to save me leading me to a safe place. The deer is so large I might call it an elk very large antlers and many points.
It may have been an elk cause elks are mainly bigger than deer but it could have been a bigger deer(dire) so I'll tell you a little on both.
The deer essence means gentleness and innocence and gentle luring to new adventures. Its cycle of power is autumn and spring. Each point in the antlers could mean another year toward new endeavors. But in general you will experience 5 years of new adventures. The antler grow behind the eyes symbolizing a heightened sense of perception and connections to higher forms of attunement. So this can be a signal saying to pay attention to your inner thoughts and perceptions as they can be more accurate than you think. When the deer essence makes itself aware to you it can be saying to be more gentle to yourself and others. Express gentle love that will open the door to new adventures to you.
The elk essence means strength and nobility it's cycle of power is autumn elk is an animal of great strength, power, and stamina. Its primary defense is to be able to outrun predators. Elks can sustain a strong fast pace for great lengths of time. when elk essence makes itself aware to you pay attention to group efforts. Are you trying to do everything by yourself? Do you feel you have the strength and energy to handle tasks all alone? Or are you not pursuing things enough? Do you need to stop doing the quick and easy when the long and steady will be more effective for you right now? Again cycles with the elk will take around 4 to 5 years. Prepare for longer periods of waiting for the things you want in life.
The horse essence means travel power and freedom and it's cycle of power is year round. Although the horse was a dark figure in your dream the deer/elk could have been luring you to more gentle adventures to get to the freedom you want. You may be feeling restricted in your life's endeavors and needing freedom. And the deer/elk medicine may be taking you on that journey to achieve the freedom you want. Horse will tech you to ride into new directions to awaken and discover your own freedom and power
I have had dreams with a wolf guiding me or watching over me from far above on cliffs while I was down in a Valley. It seemed as though it was looking out for me. And the wolf also appeared in other dreams showing me things.
