your element cannot change.
you element is mostly dirived from your zodiac, sometimes peolpe are born with 2 elements. you can master them all but it takes most people a life time to master one so dont get your hopes up. dont try spirit unless your 100% sure your gifted with it, youll just kill yourself otherwise.
most of the time people that dont match there elemevts is because they have 2, ex. you will have the personality of one element but be another, any ?
Many real-life covens or occult orders, will take you through mastery of all elements. Instead of (or in addition to) advancing by "degrees", you're taken through "The Grade of Earth," "The Grade of Water", The Grade of Air", "The Grade of Fire"... the order can differ depending on who you join.
Afterwards, some say even if you feel an affinity to an element, you must work with ALL of them in order to be balanced (do not neglect any other element.)
Others say you should work with what you're most comfortable with... your personal energy might just jive better with a particular element, so work with that because you're good at it.
I don't think astrology has much to do with it... I'm a water sign only according to my sun, and yes I work with water energy the most... but I'm also a Libra (moon sign,) Gemini (rising sign) and Aquarius (midheaven sign) -- so I'm just as much an air elementalist and I HATE working with air! It's such a quarrelsome, careless element, I just can't work it out!
Fire is my next favorite, even if there's not much of that in my chart... my teacher says that means somewhere else in my life I must feel forced into an incompatible working condition (because why else would a birth-fated water soul work with its opposite?)... but a simpler explanation is, I just like fire :D
Azreal, it's actually been proved that your zodiac has nothing to do with your element. Why? Because basically zodiac is a way of figuring out your personality, what you're like if you will, but sometimes people are not like their zodiac at all.
Say a sagitarius was a calm and peacful person, and avoided conflicts, would that be very fire like? I think not, so when it comes to elements it's best to just see the characteristics of the different elements and see which one your personality matches. Especially since there are so many factors to astrology, and truth be told not everyone is like their sun sign or "element" of zodiac. But if your element matches your zodiac and your personality, then hey at least you can be sure you made the right decision. :)
hi i no everyone was talking about star signs and elements, but i was just wondering if anyone could help me with something. im a witch and wanted to no if anyone new any good truth spells? ( no black magic please).
If Azreal is right that a person can be born with two elements, then i have a really big problemoon.
i have the attributes of all the elements!!!
1. i am passionate,future oriented(fire)
2. i am emotional,imaginative,day dreamer,secretive,sympathetic,mystical(water)
3. i am logical thinker, have good creativity, social, curious(air)
4. i am patient, have perseverance,organized,self disciplined(earth)
does this mean i can master all the four elements?
Elements are defined to you by nature.
Its What You Best Work With.
My Zodiac says Air, but I can't work with Air worth nuttin'.
My personality says something along the lines of some chaotic hamster on fire...
AvatarSolare, we are all born with abilities of all elements, better with one then another by nature.
Its possible for anyone to master the four basic elements, but it'd be VERY difficult.
How to discover your magical element and become in tune with it.
There are four elements in magick: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. How do you find out what your element is?
The easiest way to discover your element is to look at your astrological Sun sign. The Sun sign is the core of an individual, the overriding nature and will. The twelve zodiac signs are grouped by element. Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius correspond to Fire. Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces correspond to Water. Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini correspond to Air. Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo correspond to Earth.
Once you know what element is attributed to your Sun sign, you can begin to explore. Take time to learn everything you can about your element. Dive deep into the correspondences, do meditations, practice magical rituals focused on that element. Here are a couple suggestions. (we are all able to work with each element, although most of us have an affinity to one or maybe two in particular, this is a good place to start)
One great practice for this purpose is learn which Major Arcana card from the Tarot is associated with your Sun sign, preferably using one of the decks inspired by an occult tradition such as Rider-Waite, Crowley's Thoth deck, or decks from the Golden Dawn or BOTA. Read the source text about the card, research each symbol, contemplate it, and see how the ideas exude in your personality and actions.
Spend time with and pay attention to the physical manifestation of your element. Visit a park or the woods if you're Earth, go swimming if you're Water, build a fire (carefully!) if you're Fire. If you're Air, meditate on your breathing, go to a mountain peak, pay attention to the wind. Gather items that remind you of the physical element and keep them in a place where you will see them regularly.
You can also contact the Elemental appropriate to your element for guidance and understanding of that element. Gnomes govern Earth, Sylphs govern Air, Undines govern Water, and Salamanders govern Fire.
You can do many other things to bring yourself in tune with your element, but these are some basics to get you started. A couple of excellent books packed with many correspondences to the four elements, among other things, are 777 by Aleister Crowley, and The Magician's Companion by Bill Whitcomb. With these books and a little imagination, you'll find other ways to explore the elements.
