Nightmare it's good that you posted about Satanism. Finally someone did it. As I read this it's puts it back into me that I am not the only Satanist on this site. Thanks for this :)
I visited the site(www.joyofsatan)they said that they recieved messages from satan himself.they also said that they have met with him on regular basis.
I think we should just keep our own believes to ourselfs(religion).
I have a question. Why do xtians thinks that we all(wizard and witchs) are agents of satan.this drives me crazy!!
Merlin, you don't have to agree with the religious practices of others on this site...which you clearly do not.
But to tell other people to keep their religious ideas to them self simply because you do not agree with it is absurd. I've seen you spout off on some of your religious beliefs in the forums as well, so unless you plan to remove all your posts that do so, leave it alone.
You do not have to read, or reply to any post that you do not agree with, but you do not have the right to tell another to keep their beliefs to themselves.
This is what confuses me. I have nothing against Satanism, but I have yet to find a Satanist who can answer my question.
Satan was actually a servant of "god. "God" would send Satan to hurt people to test their faith to "god". Another belief was that he was an angel that held a position as an attorney general of sorts for judgement.
Lucifer doesn't exist in the Bible, its a mistranslation of morning star, the same exact word used to describe Jesus later on in the Bible. Satan was only later turned into an opposite and equal force by Christianity who stole the idea from the Persians.
He is in no way limited to Christianity's mere two thousand year lifetime. "Satan" was apart of the Torah. Although the Quran is about 500 years younger than the Bible, it too mentions Satan. And I I stated, the Persians had a similar figure.
But here is my question! Where is the ancient literature that supports your claims? If there is none, than I'm sorry to say, but Satanism that uses the image of Satan as seperate from its true origins is no more authentic than the Church of the Flying Purple Spaghetti Monster. In fact, the Spaghetti Monster has more validity because it is original and not attempting to change a very prominent relgious archetype into something totally different. LaVey Satanism and Setism are much different, LaVey only utilizes the meaning of Satan, adversary, to demonstrate that it is in fact an anti-religion. Setism worships the Egyptian god Set. Both make sense to me.
But what you are describing does not. To me it seems that this is a way for people to rebel against the Christian, Jewish, and Islamic religions. No where have I ever read (in ancient script not online sites) does it say that Satan created the world, nor that hell is a "nice place" full of gods.
I'm sorry, I'm a blunt person, I don't mean to seem rude. If you do have my answer, I would love to read it.
If it helps at all, some theistic Satanists refer to him as Enki instead of using the Christian terms of "satan", which is a Sumerian Deity. It can be argued, like anything else, that Christianity "demonized" this deity as they did so many other pagan/heathen/whatever other name you can think of deities.
I've heard more intelligent conversation come from those who refer to this entity by this name than any other, to be completely honest with you.
Just sayin, but Satan was only told to be bad because he was one of the only (other than the greeks) god's at that point :) Satan is no worse than any other god in existence (also i believe demons don't have a ruler)
And why do you do that? You do realise that you are actualy braking the law by saying that. Laughing at q certain religion is counted as being racist. You are allowed your opinion, but unless you have something nice to say, don't say it at all.
