Honey you need to get your priorities straight, being a mermaid is not something you should be trying so hard to get, nor is trying to convince yourself they are real in this plane. Stories are also an outcome of an active imagination. Like someone once pointed in the forums that mermaids were in all likelihood imaginary characters born in the minds of sexually depraved sailors who'd be out at sea for years...

mermaids are real, i won't deny that. in the astral yes, in the physical, maybe. i don't want to put my foot down and say no, since the ocean is vast and there are new discoveries every day, but you can't change into one in the physical. i'm sorry to say it, but it's the truth. magic can't change facts. in the astral you can, but you can't here, you would need to alter not only your appearance but your DNA to breath under water, stand the pressure, and live off of whatever it is merfolk eat. magic takes energy and alters it to suet your needs, it doesn't tell nature to bugger off someone wants to be part fish.
