Observations On Chat

Well, I must say a well written thread indeed, it's a sad thing that your name is black...you must have deleted your account, it would be nice to have a chat with you Zalkari.

There is a lot of arrogance in the chat, but it has been cleaned up for the most part. I have returned after nearly two years of being away, to come to find that there's a bunch of new faces, but there is plenty of of the same old same old.

I have been on this site a few times and while I do agree some are willing to teach a bit if you approach them the right way. Sad to see you gone Zalk

I have become exactly the opposite of what I posted a year and a half ago. This is the truth of it all.

I have seen many simply just beat up others. I have seen many judge others on public. I have seen people react to the truth most bitterly. I have seen rank change instantaneously because one with the power to do so did not agree with what someone said. I have seen political decisions made. I have seen people's issues and complaints. I have seen life stories.

I have bearly seen magic.

I think you're right, Zalkari. Sometimes you do need to be "spoon fed" or assured you're going the right way. Otherwise it feels like you are trying to get into a clique. I've noticed some of my concrete answers being deleted.

Here's the thing: witches are by nature secretive, because everyone was in the broom closet. Most people learn stuff on their own and get selfish (without knowing it) to share it.
People who have been practicing magick for ages forget how complicated it is.

This site is to help, but it's hard for the old ways to go away.

Sorry, this is kind of a random reply, but honestly the only thing that makes me mad on here is when people, usually young pre-teens, (I'm fourteen, but I'm not like that) will join this site just for selfish reasons and they abuse magic like it doesn't affect them at all, and in the long run it probably will. Also, when they ask about how to be a vampire/mermaid/werewolf/insert other mythological creature, and actually believe they are one, and having a opinion or religion is one thing, but this is scientific law, it's impossible.

Well I am afraid this forum will be locked by some 'knowledgeable' person here.

Every profile you see "I will not cast spells"
Every question you ask "Test your own spells/Write your own spells/ Love spells...free will, 3 fold, DNA, backfire blah blah..."

At least have some sympathy with the asker! He/she sure must be really upset and thats why they have come here for help...

So I am just going away from these computer generated like answers...just need to find time and answer all my pending tarot readings!

I feel sad this site has such great POTENTIAL and these so called 'knowledgeable' people can help so many others but they chose to keep all knowledge to themselves and behave as if we are illiterates!

And most of stuff I have learnt is from Luckymojo or youtube or joysofsatan, so that explains stuff really well.

My advice to those who are seeking knowledge... just send personal message to someone who CAN answer all your questions without getting frustated. At least in PM they will only say "Do your own research" and you wont feel humiliated.

And actually type keywords in google there are hundred of forums, now I have started doubting if these knowledgeable people actually do know something or not, its really easy to make a group of 3-4 moderators and rate whomever they like as 'knowldegeable' and whomever they dont like as fluff... it CAN be manipulated...so better just go through 3-4 year old forums and see what other people outside SoM are saying about it!

I partly agree with the thread. This site is for learning and helping eachother along the way. How are you suppose to learn yourself when some members get spoon fed? I just find it ridiculous the way most members refuse to learn the right way... But then again its there choice, in the end they will realize it soon enough. To me this site seems like a 'battle' on who is more knowledgeable. I think pet needs to re-organise it.

Abuse magic? I do not see how that's possible. You must first learn what magic is. Then, one needs to understand it. After that, they can implement it. Then, they can analyze the results.

It is simply like science. In the way of learning it and whatnot. You cannot do anything bizarre with magic that is outside of the laws of physics and nature .

I agree with a lot of points on this thread. There is a lot of online bullying in the chatter on this site and no one does anything about it because they are either friends with the individual who's doing it or they simply don't care because of their ranking. I left this site a while back due to the fact that mentisamor had everyone in the chatter rank me as fluffy. This was uncalled for because I was discussing The Goetia and my own experience with scrying. She couldn't believe that a satanist could make the Goetia work because of the conflict of beliefs in that system v.s. satanism. Therefor I got ranked fluffy and it was as simple as that. I feel this person and her friends attacked me because I'm a theistic satanist. I made a formal complaint but nothing was done because "mentisamor" The Crow Lady is friends with a lot of well known people within the occult community. People are people and no matter what their outward appearance is they are all human just like you and me. People make mistakes and people can lie about who they are. Just because they have a rep it shouldn't keep them from being held accountable for their actions in the chatter. On a further note, if this site is based on rankings shouldn't there be a better way in doing this? If people are going to act like children (like mentioned above) shouldn't this type of power be stripped from the everyday average joe? Something sincerely needs to be changed.
