Then how can it be there if it is not there?

Seeing isn't believing, believing is seeing.

Yet belief alone does not make something real, and belief can cloud the perception of a person to only let them see what they are able to see.

There are some people who say that the cord does not actually exist but is just a metaphor for the force that pulls someone back to there body, or that keep them from losing there way and being unable to return to the body. Others claim it absolutely exist. I myself can not see a cord when a project, but that doesn't mean that a cord doesn't exist. there are many things that someone can not directly perceive (such as air) that do exist. It is possible that some can perceive it while others do not. In the end, as long as you are able to return to your body it doesn't really matter how you do it.

quick question for astral projection, when it comes time when your body "falls asleep but your mind stays awake" and your body starts getting a vibrating sensation, is it the same feeling as when one of your arms or legs fall asleep and it feels weird?

Zanee, Your question is kind of difficult to answer. People seem to experience the vibration stage slightly different then each other. This means that it could be the vibration stage for you, or it could be a your leg or arm falling asleep. Limbs fall asleep from lack of bloodflow or putting pressure on a nerve. Next time you try to astral project try sitting in a different possession that you find comfortable. If you find the same feeling then it is likely part of how you perceive the vibration stage.
