It was a general statement,that perhaps someone else will see this and be able to help you further decipher the phrase. It wasn't referencing a specific individual.

Unfortunately the chant, which is in poor Latin, is a series of nonsense. It translates as " I clearly Reso night ixiri" so two of the words are nonsense groupings of letters.

There is an excellent write up about Nyx at https://www.theoi.com/Protogenos/Nyx.html that you might find helpful.

Nyx, or her Roman counterpart, Nox, is a primordial personification of the night.She is a motherly deity, but she is not a Goddess in the way that Athena or Aphrodite is because she came fromChaos directly, and was united with Gaia. Primordialmeans from the beginning, and even her offspring with her consort Erebus can confirm this since they are aptly named Morpheus (dreams), Thanatos (death) Hypnos (sleep, and twin of Thanatos. Has been referred to as "The Little Death") and a number of others.

She enjoys offerings from the heart, whether it's a dark poem that you've written, flowers that you feel embody her presence, or something personal. She is excellent to work on dream journaling with, and is good at pointing out obscure interpretations that are easily overlooked.

Theoi is an excellent sight that's use of terminology tends to be more accurate and insightful that other mythology sites. I would also recommend their write up.

Check out the Orphic Hymn #3 to Night, especially the Athanassaskis and Wolkow translation of the Hymns which has excellent commentary on examples of Nyx's cultus and mentions an oracle dedicated to her at Megara.

It should be noted that google translate has been cited as being quite terrible for latin.

Maybe ask people on reddit for a translation? I think there are subs for stuff like that. Just type in latin translation sub reddit.

Hello! As everyone else has suggested, checking out www.theoi.com for her general backstory and myth is a fantastic place to start when looking for information on her! She is often portrayed as a 'dark goddess/mother' largely due to her role in creation. She's tied to many creation myths and is one of the only other gods that can create other gods. She also resides in Tarturus, which ties her to the 'darkness'. Add in that she's the literal embodiment of night, and there you go. I would also suggest these sites as well;

Heres her Theoi: https://www.theoi.com/Protogenos/Nyx.html

Some of these have offering tips, rituals done with her or in her name, etc. you'll find that most of this is UPG, but it helps get a general idea regardless. Hope this helps!

Nyx is the Greek Goddess of the night, She was told to be very beautiful.
Nyx is a very unique goddess. Zeus even feared Nyx because she was older and stronger than him. She is the only goddess he’s ever feared. The moonstone is used to honor her and should be used during the full moon.

because of her mysterious and dark nature, many see her as more of a villain but was worshipped as a background deity in many of the ones for other gods and goddesses.
Hope this helped Best of Luck
Blessed Be
