We have had all this argument before! In my own opinion there is nothing wrong with a Christian practising magic. Catholic priests do it every day at Mass. But that is not the same thing as being a practising Witch and at the same time being a practising Christian. But this argument has developed into arguments about religious wars. That will always be the case when religion tries to "control". All the major religions aim for that; "Believe what we believe or you will be punished." (I say "major" religions, not all!)
The reason why witches do not make war is because we do not seek converts, as the others do. We say,"Believe what you wish." And all religions "change" over time. It is always taken for granted that the Christian faith is of a male deity. All you have to do is look at any image of Mary with the baby Jesus. It is an exact copy of Isis and Horus! And why do Christians wear a cross? The first emblem was a fish! And did Jesus really die on a cross? Made especially for the purpose out of the most expensive material in Judea; timber? The Pagan Federation is working very hard to have all beliefs "accepted". It will take an awful long time!

Forgive me, and we are after all entitled to our opinions but it seems to me that you are somewhat confused as to what you are. I think perhaps a little meditation is required! I'm not sure what ya average local vicar/priest would have to say on the matter and I wish you luck in your quest the find the right path for you

A Website on Christian Witches- http://arganteswell.tripod.com/id1.html

Here's a book on it- http://www.amazon.com/Path-Christian-Witch-Adelina-Clair/dp/073871982X

And Another website just because - http://thespiritualeclectic.wordpress.com/2008/04/08/christian-witches-caught-in-the-middle/

And Here's a website on Trinitarian Wicca- http://www.christianwicca.org/

I can see both sides and I can see the middle, but until one actually experiences the path first hand, we shouldn't judge those who fall into this category, so that they have their fair ability to worship and live as they choose to. Also remember, that a lot of magic (ceremonial magic for example) only survived through the Catholic Church, along with a lot of pagan symbolism and practices, so let's not be to quick to judge a path that fuses the two together.

Christian, means Christ like, or to be like Christ.

So if you are a "christian" following generic "christian beliefs" then you cant logically be a witch. You can however believe in the Christian god and still be a "witch".

I've posted it before. I will repeat. If you believe that Jesus was God-made-man then you are a Christian, even if you never set foot in a church. If you do not believe in the God-made-man, then you are a Pagan; and by definition a witch is a Pagan. You cannot be both a believer and a disbeliever!

Brysing, by your definition, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindu, and every other religion are Pagans and thus witches. I'm pretty sure if you call a Muslim a Pagan/witch, there will be an issue.

According to recent definitions, Pagan and heathen (one who does not believe in the same religion you do) can be considered the same. If we broaden this, all religions are pagan and thus Christian witch is possible.

I don't particularly adhere to this idea.

If you do not believe in the Christian god, it does not make you pagan. Paganism is polytheistic. By that definition, all one must believe is that there are multiple deities. It can actually be argued then, that Christianity is Pagan since they believe in a God, and his son - which would be a demi-god. Demi or not, that's two and thus...polytheistic.

Follow my logic here please:

Witches perform witchcraft of some sorts.
Witchcraft is the use of magick.
Therefore witches use magick.

Witches use magick.
Magick is the manipulation of energy.
Therefore a witch is anyone who manipulates energy.

A witch is anyone who manipulates energy.
Energy is manipulated by any and every living being within their bodies (aka bodily functions such as eating, sleeping, waste removal, reproduction, breathing, etc.).
Therefore a witch is any and every living being.

Get what I am saying?
