Here`s my thinking. Over the years thousands, no millions of alchemests, scientists, philosophers, magicians, wiches, and just plain people have tryed to discover the secret of immortality. If all of them couldnt figure out how to physicaly preserve a body and still be able to live in it, then it can`t be done. But, what if you could learn how to posses, i know it`s possible, i just don`t know if it could be a permanent thing. If your soul could travel into the body of someone else, then essentialy, you could live forever!
See the only problem with that is. You won't ever feel quite your self. I mean sure it might be cool to live forever. However soul jumping ususaly leads to depression, since you out live everybody you know and loved.
Tho you could be come immortaly like the person above . Actions speak louders than words. I mean look at hitler my generation wasn't able to meet him(not that I would)
But we know about him and what he did. He will forever live on
At the last two comments, I loled. Since your not switching brains with the people you "possess" you would not have any of the memories from your previous body. Similar to how we forget our past lives when we reincarnate. So even that method is flawed even if it were possible, which I doubt it is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryonics
Its Cryonics not Cryogenics (that's for freezing food and beef patties lol)
"Cryonics is the low-temperature preservation of humans and animals that can no longer be sustained by contemporary medicine until resuscitation may be possible in the future. Currently, human cryopreservation is not reversible, which means that it is not currently possible to bring people out of cryopreservation. The rationale for cryonics is that people who are considered dead by the current legal or medical definitions will not necessarily be dead by future standardsthe most stringent standard being the information-theoretic definition of death [1] ; and that such people could be brought out of cryopreservation in the future." - From wikipedia
Yes its true your body would die, but you mind, heart and soul would live forever. Thus granting you immortality. Would you rather live in the same body forever and be cursed with its burdens(cant live in the same house and city forever)? Or live on threw your teachings and actions you did when you were alive? Id chose the latter of the 2 personally.
Actually,
death is generally considered to be
when the brain and heart stop working.
Since death is unavoidable,
I don't think that definition of immortality will work.
immortality would be when your cells are unmutating and undieng which would require complete freezing of normal bodily functions hence cryogenics u cant be immortal when you can move
time is a horse which cannot be tamed
few ever win at that fatefully game
those whose parentage reflects thy fate
can ride for a few
but others just waste
