Yes, but I can use this negative energy to does something positive therefore its nature is constructive. It adds fuel to the ward and stops the spell from actually getting around it. Kind of like having a beast that eats all the intruders before they can do any real harm.
whats the difrence between wards and words? Even on skyrim they were just special words... I believe certain sounds, such as "oohhmmm" can be powerful by hitting a specific pitch frequency, but thats about the extent...
if you have it absorb it is a little trickier. When I do that, I use chips of citrine or black tourmaline to convert the energy into something positive. That type of ward can become overcome, depending on how much negativity it encounters and your wards can become tainted. Another kind I use are plain rocks that I place around the perimeter of my home buried in the ground. I charge them previously with the intent to absorb and mark them with a protective sigil. I charge them with the intent that the negativity will be absorbed into the earth an purified and every month or so, I walk to each spot and reaffirm their purpose and sprinkle a blessed water over the area.
I prefer reflection because it merely bounces out any negativity back to its source and it is far easier to maintain and use anywhere if you travel. I see these as mirrors facing outward, and have even placed a mirror in my window before, facing toward the outside when I had experienced an unkind visitor who was pestering my dreams (they would come through the window).
After years of warding, I have created my own variety of wards. I have physical wards at the front of my home, bedroom door, bedroom sliding glass doors, and have sigils drawn in an inconspicuous spot my bed and my daughter's bed. Each is designed to protect according to its location.
I put a branch I found that looked like algiz (the rune) on my fence. Over my balcony sliding glass doors is an arching oak branch (that I removed the bark from) that has a large feather from a dove, hawk, and raven attached to (dove feather in the center). Hanging beside this is a bottle of citrine chips. This is designed to actually allow and attract good energy of these bird types, protect from negativity or harm, and convert any negative or malicious energy that cannot be blocked. These are feathers I have found myself, I didn't buy them. I have these birds in my area and I was so excited to have found these feathers. The branch was one that fell due to a storm. From the look of the tree, it appearred to have been struck by lightening. As I find new things that call to me, I will add to it. Over my bedroom door is a clear quartz I've used as a ward for years. Its meant to keep my bedroom free of any negative energy people may give off within the home from entering my sleeping space.
Interestingly, I used a ward of hand dried roses (with thorns) annointed with dragons blood at my door for a while, but I would find it knocked to the floor over and over again. When I secured its container well, the petals would be on my floor. I plan to reformulate this ward and resecure it in a way that can't be moved (even by me) because apparently it was doing something right, but it wasn't strong enough and was being destroyed. Poor roses. I couldn't find any rational explaination for its falling because the door it was on did not lead to outside, the wall it was on was actually the end of a short hallway leading to the door (so vibration is out of the question) and I had it close to the ceiling (on the top floor) so there was no vibrations from the ceiling, just a crawlspace above that sits under the pitched roof. I had to get on a chair just to reach it! That is one problem with wards, just because a spirit can't harm doesn't mean it can't be mischevious.
I do walk around a smudge my home and cleanse and reestablish the purpose of all wards, but I really suggest physical wards because just energy ones can break down and if you become busy or forget to redo it, you'll notice when you're bombarded with foreign energy and spirits in your home again. Then you're back to square one.
Oh and by the way, the roses were tucked inside a basket cup that is made to be mounted on the wall. The roses were not hanging out but was literally inside where I couldn't see it. For those of you who are skeptical, I know I have to be specific. =)

Wow, very impressive. My current wards are pentacles drawn over every door and window and I trace a pentacle in the air with sage smoke. I also have five tiger's eye stones buried in the yard forming a star shape and a large chunk of quartz in the basement at the center of the house. I charge the quartz once a month to add energy to the wards.
It sounds like you have a great setup. You have battery/energy sources connected to the energy and you merely direct it through your home. You can easily use. Although it is a stone of protection, its more geared toward the mind than the body, so either your protection should effect the mind and will or you may wish to include a more "physical" protection gemstone like black tourmaline into the center of this star?
The quartz is the connector of your protection, being in the very root and center of your home. For it to be most effective, I would personally focus on this crystal sprouting roots into the ground below the basement and reaching up branches over your property (a huge tree). The crystal will then gain the behavior of a tree, pulling energy from the air and earth while sheltering your home from harm. Just my two cents. =)
